It's not super hot but has just enough zing to be interesting. I do sometimes also make something super mild if I have guests over and don't know their preference but MOST people are OK with this, especially on the butts, just because there's less surface area for the amount of meat. I go through roughly five pounds a year so this works out pretty well, I just dump it into a big rubbermaid pitcher and pour from there. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Favorite BBQ rub *by on Reviewed in the United States December 13, 2024* This was a great deal compared to buying individual shakers, assuming you can use it all. I split it up into vacuum bags that each hold one shaker of seasoning and have use it almost every time I BBQ. I wish they made a version with slightly lower salt or even salt-free as it can get a little salty when using it on smaller cuts of meats. Can't say how it works on Chicken because I don't do Chicken but it works great on Thanksgiving Turkey prepared on the smoker. I use this in combination with a 'home made' Texas rub and Malcolm Reed's Killer Hog Rub. Together they produce the perfect flavor on pork and fowl.
