BEFORE you turn the fresh water on, make sure either the black or gray valve on your unit is open after you close the valve on the flush king . If you turn on the fresh water and ALL the valves are closed, the pressure can easily cause the unit to disconnect and break off some of the plastic hooks that hold the flush king in place. **Q: My sewer hose stays connected to the rv. If I buy another sewer hose to connect to black side, can I connect the clear side to the other hose?** A: The clear end - with the four locking 'ears' - is designed to lock onto the four pins on the end of the rigid drain pipe of your RV. (Not certain why you'd want to go this route... I find it much easier to attach the RV Flush Valve directly to the RV's rigid pipe, then attach flexible hose(s) to it to reach the sewage tank, but I don't leave any of the items attached permanently.) Remember - this is designed to do TWO different tasks. #1 - allows fresh water to flow backwards through the rigid drain pipe, thus allowing water to flow into both the grey and black water tanks, which then are emptied - perhaps more than once. (Many newer RVs have built-in 'sprinkler' type devices inside their holding tanks to allow fresh water to flush the tanks, but for older RVs like mine this Flush Valve does a fantastic job. #2 - fresh water discharged from the holding tanks flush out the valve and drain hose(s). **Q: Is it me or should the hose inlet be facing the black water tank to help flush the tank?** A: All trailers are different angle pipes so it can't be made like that. The design of this is not to spray a water jet up the pipe but to back up fresh water into the tank to flush it out (rather than stand on the peddle of the toilet for 10 minutes). Because of how easy it is to do, I will flush it in the middle of the camping trip if i get bored and keep the smell down that way. Anyway, there are flushers designed to shoot a jet up the black water pipe, but they have very poor reviews because you only get one angle which most likely wont reach the tank because of trailers all being made with different angle pipes. **Q: Would this work with a 2004 170p roadtrek class b camping van rv? i'm a newbie rver. don't quite understand the concept...** A: It appears you have a macerater pump on your unit that pumps the waste out thru a small hose. The f02-4350 is for a different system (gravity) with a three inch hose. It is so you can hook a garden hose to it and add water to the holding tanks to flush out. No it will not work on your system. They do make a sprayer that can be installed to the side of the tank to rinse it out. Hope this helps you.
