Solid Gold Five Oceans Shreds with Real Tuna in Gravy - Premium Wet Cat Food for All Life Stages, 8 Pack

This is an interesting mix of white, white large hunks of tuna and darker mushy tuna. The white is on top. So when it comes out of the can, I hold it just so, so the white is not covered by the darker tuna. The chunk white is so large that my cats LEAVE it there, not used to LARGE pieces of any food. So I smush the white chunks a bit. Every bit of each and every can is devoured as all four gather around, each nuzzling in for its fair share. No waste here. No finicky cat rejection here. So cost isn't really a factor if you think about it! Quality is quality!

Our Jacob was first diagnosed with diabetes; he was still able to eat regular food. When he was diagnosed with pancreatitis, that's when we had to change his diet to canned food. He flatly refused to eat a prescription cat food. After doing some research, we decided to try Solid Gold. It is a high quality cat food, he loves it, and it treats his little insides like...gold. I highly recommend Solid Gold cat food, whether you have a cat who needs a special diet, or you simply want them to eat quality food.

It looks really good but smells awful however one of my cats started to have bleeding from her derriere each time she ate any other wet food. So now she has this plus purina gentle digest and Temptations indoor and she is OK. Tried to change her back to previous foods three times with bad results. So sticking with this regime. She is seven years old.

*Edit*: Tentatively changing my rating back up to 4 stars, from 2 stars. This is for two reasons: 1) After initially leaving the 2 star review, I got a message from the manufacturer offering me a full refund (I did not take it). 2) I decided to give them one more shot, and of the recent order, two out of three of the cans were back up to the normal quality. The bad ones have a best by date of June 2028 while the good quality ones have one of October 2028. Taken together, to me this implies that they are aware of some kind of manufacturing/ingredient issue and are taking steps to rectify it. If my next few orders are back up to par, I will change my rating back up to 5 stars. Here’s hoping! ————————————————————————————— Original: Used to be 5 stars. Now, not so much. They changed the formulation recently, in a very bad way. I was hopeful that the redesigned packaging would come with the old formula, but it’s just more of the same new, inferior formula. It’s darker, watery, and just looks less appetizing overall. My orange cat who eats anything doesn’t seem to care all that much, but my picky girl doesn’t like the new stuff at all. Which is unfortunate since this was the only thing I could find that she liked. And for years, that was great! Not anymore. I’m canceling my monthly subscription and will try to find something new. I’ll come back if the manufacturer indicates that they’re returning to the new formula — otherwise, nah, I can surely find something cheaper than my orange boy likes.

I had a cat with a lot of allergies to artificial colors and preservatives and was also prone to bladder crystals so I was very limited in what he could eat. After spending a lot of money on things that he wouldn't touch I found this. Cats are known to be finicky so the fact that he ate this every single day for almost 15 years says a lot about palatability. I have two new finicky eaters and although they have no dietary restrictions they love it too. If you have a problem eater or a cat with similar problems to mine I'd recommend it.

This food used to be great, but they must have just changed the formula because it is not the same food as before (I was buying 3 cases a month). The food is darker, has less chunks of tuna, and smells worse. My cat wouldn't eat the new formula, which is sad because this was the only food she would eat. So now we start the process over of finding a food she will eat that doesn't have any chicken in it. But Amazon was amazing to work with in resolving the problem, so this is all on the manufacturer.

This looked ideal, but cats refused to eat it. Guess they only like albacore tuna. SPOILED pets; 1 kitty, 1 senior, a 2 yr-old and a 4 yr- old. Two of them tasted; then they all refused.

My calico love these. 1/3 per day to help hydrate her.

Being able to confirm an order for this 3 Oz size is almost like winning a lottery - especially when you have a senior cat at home who is quite particular about the food you place in the dish. We’ve tried the 6 Oz version but it just isn’t the same - it seems to contain more moisture, looks mushy and my cat simply won’t go near it. I hope the 3 Oz version will continue to be produced.
