Best thing I've ever purchased!
Update to my original review May 2023: I wanted to come back here now to tell everyone how much I still use and love this waffle maker. So, I planned on buying this back in 2020 anyway; however, it really was a bonus at the time because COVID-19 had just begun and we had this during lockdown and work/school from home. Well, it's now 2023 -- 3 years later and this waffle maker is still awesome. I make waffles for all the mornings after kid sleep-overs. Moms ask me about my waffles because their kids/teens love them so much and they can't seem to replicate what I do. Now...I'm no Betty Crocker, so I blame a lot of it on this particular maker. First, the size is perfect. It's a good size waffle for most people. The two-sided cooker means that I can keep the waffles flowing when we have crowds too. I tend to make a big batch normally and freeze them for school mornings (I pop it on a plate for 30 sec, turn over for another 30 sec and it's perfect). They are large waffles, so my kids sometimes only eat half one morning and save the other half for another morning. I finally found the perfect tupperware to store them too (8" diameter x 4" height) through publishers clearing house. lol (see pic) It has a flat bottom so I can store up to 5 waffles in there (I generally separate them with wax paper). Although I will make them from scratch often -- I find the Krusteaz Belgian Waffle mix is very good when you want to do it with much less work. I use the Professional version as you don't need to add eggs and you can make as much or as little as you want. I tend to make my waffles a bit more fluid as it makes them fluffier/less dense. (so I add more water to the batter so it pours easily). Less water will give you a thicker batter and a more dense waffle. Both are good, we just prefer fluffy. As for clean-up, it's still a pain. But really, nothing too horrible -- takes a few minutes at most, once cooled. I let it cool down for at least a half hour, take a wad of paper towels to wipe all the inner surfaces and use some glass cleaner around the outside afterwards to get off any dripped grease from the Pam that I use to quickly coat the inside before pouring in the batter. So, after three years of relatively constant use (at least 3-4 times per month because I make large batches), my Cuisinart Belgian Waffle Maker (2 sided) is still working great. We love everything about it. Clean up is a bit of a hassle, but that's why I also make large batches because I don't have time in the morning for cleanup. I do not use this to do any of the other recipes in videos. I see folks cooking with cheese and sauces and all that. Well, that's really not me. I bought this with one purpose in mind and only use it for that. So, for me, clean-up is really easy. For other stuff, I pull out a frying pan. So, I really can't tell you about that side of it. Original Review Written in 2020: I've always wanted a waffle maker -- even better -- Belgian Waffle maker. But I was worried it would not be used after a while, and clean up in the past for all these sorts of things was horrible. Not with this one. Every week I'm making a batch because my son absolutely loves them. I usually make a bunch and freeze them for the week because of schedules and work. I've made some from scratch; but I have to admit that most of the time it's easiest to use a mix (Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix, is my preferred). Directions: I use a very light spray of Pam, because the oil wasn't as efficient and Pam gives it a lighter, more complete coverage. I also make sure the batter is able to flow of a spoon, rather than being thick. BUT not too watery. I find this helps move the batter around better for a more complete waffle. I do not necessarily like a crunchy waffle, so I start with it on "3." However, as I cook more waffles, I find I need to turn it down to almost "2" because the temperature continues to rise. A silicon set of tongs makes removal very safe and easy -- kids can help on that end. Pros: Easy clean-up, very simple to use, perfect waffles every time. I've added chocolate chips to batter and fruit and nothing sticks and it's very easy to just wipe it out once cooled. Cons: If you do use a little too much Pam, you'll find it drips down the back, the temperature setting could be more accurate (but not a huge issue), maybe a slightly longer cord would be nice too. As you can see, I really do not have many cons here. This thing has been perfect so far. Unlike some of the other posts, I've not seen any of the problems with the plastic on the back melting or anything...so I can only imagine that they have since addressed the issue? I bought mine a few months ago and we have used it regularly since, without issue. Suggestions for Cuisinart: Accessories would be nice!!! Like a case/cover to protect it when it's on the counter or put into a cabinet. But I would especially love to see an 8" round waffle freezer storage box -- maybe to hold 3 or 4 waffles? That would make my day (especially ecofriendly)!!! All-in-all, I completely recommend this waffle maker to anyone...well, waffling about which one to get.

Glad I bought this....throw some yeast in your cart so you can make waffles ASAP!
I love it, tried 2 of the recipes that came with it. The Goodnight waffles are amazing and well worth the wait (8 hours for batter to rest)! The other belgium waffle recipe takes a little more effort and 1 hour for batter to rest (beat the egg whites which is a workout if you don't own a mixer.) If you want a double waffle maker, there aren't many options especially in one with a smaller footprint. This one does have nice features. First the ready lights are on the pans. You flip the light to the top and take out your waffle. Refill, close and wait for the next one. That being said you might try to not be so fast on the fill that both are essentially ready at the same time. Other machines have the ready indicator light on the base. Not sure how you know which pan is ready on those. This one has an on/off switch. Not all of them do. Not essential, but nice if you plan to keep it out or even set it up early. The Cuisinart also has an adjustable darkness setting. They recommend 3, we needed it a little higher (darker). Could be the high altitude of our location. At 6000 ft we also have to increase the amount of flour. This dial does have a silver color but is definitely cheap plastic. While there is a whole lot of plastic in the machine, I feel like making this particular dial a little more sturdy would help the entire machine to feel a little more like it matches the overall price. Plastic isn't necessarily bad, this particular part just feels a little flimsy. Maybe a sturdy solid black higher quality black dial would increase the user's feel of the machine. What this machine doesn't have is an overflow tray. I tried a dinner plate but it wouldn't fit. I found a shallow pie plate fit perfect if this is something you feel you need. That being said, using the included bapper scoop, I really didn't have more than a couple of small drips. I mentioned earlier that you don't want to fill both to quickly so they aren't ready exactly at the same time, but giving it a few seconds allows it so set up a bit so it doesn't run out. Other users referred to the flipping redistributing the batter, but I don't see that. It isn't like a frying pand that you can swirl around. It only flips one way, so I don't see this happening unless you put more batter on the side that will flip to the top which would have to be opposite on every other waffle. I think the flipping is just a way to start the timer and also save space on the footprint and still cook 2 waffles at one time. If you want to make extras and freeze them, they heat up great in the toaster oven or air fryer and even stay crispy. In the microwave they will come out soft. I also used the machine to make waffle shapped corn bread. Came out perfect. One box will make 2 not quite full circles very quick. It can be cooked on a lower setting than the one used for waffles as it came out a couple shades darker.

Best waffle maker! The BEST WAFFLES EVER! Recipe here
We ordered this waffle maker on Friday and waited with anticipation for the mailman to bring it Sunday morning. It got here around 9:30 a.m. and we were eating the best waffles ever by 10. Holy moly, is this machine easy to use! You unpack it, wipe down the inside waffle grids with a damp paper towel, plug it in, then turn it on to heat. I set it at number 4. It takes a good five minutes or more to heat up initially. It beeps six times once it is ready, and the green indicator light comes on. It does this for each side. I used a silicone pastry brush to lightly oil it with grapeseed oil and used the included scoop to pour in the batter, which should be thicker than pancake batter. You want it to be like a thick milkshake in consistency, just barely able to pour. Then I evened the batter out with a silicone spatula (or you could use a wooden spoon) and closed the lid. Make sure to use only as much batter as the enclosed scoop. If you use more batter, it will ooze out and the lid will open. Also make sure the batter is thick, not runny like pancake batter. This is very important for proper operation. Then you turn the handle which flips the top over. Fill the other side the same way, then turn over again. The machine has a green indicator light for each side which comes on when the waffle is ready and it beeps. It's the same green indicator light that comes on when it has heated up to the correct cooking temp. I found a recipe online called The Bestest Waffle Batter. It says to separate and whip your egg white but my mixer battery is dead so I just added the eggs to the milk and half of the oil called for. I used only half the sugar too. The waffles were fabulous! The recipe made 5 waffles. We ate 3 and froze 2 for a quick brekky another day. Anyway, here's the recipe as I made them. 2 cups flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1⁄2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons sugar 2 eggs, 1⁄4 cup oil 2 cups milk Directions Whisk the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Mix together the eggs, milk, and oil and stir slightly. Add to dry ingredients and mix well. This is going to be on my gift list for birthdays and such this year! Update, two days later: This morning we had the two waffles that had been frozen Sunday. Unwrapped them, nuked them on a plate for 30 seconds, the tore them each in half then toasted in the toaster. Absolutely FANTASTIC! Butter tip: Melt a half a stick of butter in a small pitcher. It is the easiest way to butter the waffles! You're gonna want waffles for breakfast every morning.

Well made, great function, perfect waffles!
We read many of the existing reviews before deciding to purchase the WAF-F20, and can honestly say that any concerns we had respecting performance or build quality have evaporated after using this product several time over our month of ownership. It is a beautiful (you can display on the countertop) and sturdy consumer-grade waffle maker, and very simple to use and clean. We paired it with a terrific scratch recipe from InspiredTaste.net, and the results are perfect. Time will tell concerning durability, and while we not likely to use it more than once a month at most going forward, we have no reason to suspect it won't last. Suggestions: • Trust the instructions and design. The procedures and function work together like a dance, and produce a perfect waffle -- golden crispy on the outside and soft in the center. It's almost a shame to add syrup to your newly baked creation. One change we recommend is to increase your batter volume, adding about 1.5 of the provided measuring cup. • Very light seasoning is all you need, and any excess oil will seep out. The nonstick plates are high quality. • We find that with the InspiredTaste.net recipe a heat setting of about 3 3/4 is perfect (of course various recipes and doneness preferences will require that you test and adjust). Make sure to allow the plates to come back to temperature after seasoning or your first batch will be underdone. The on/off switch and adjustable temperature dial are really nice features, and enable fine-tuning. Great product and we definitely recommend.

Perfect Crispy Belgium Waffles
I returned this item due to the poor finish on its latch (see photo), but I used it once and made the best waffles I’ve ever had! However, i also discovered a couple of things about this waffle maker that have led me to exchange it for a square-type of Cuisinart waffle maker instead. My batter was on the thinner side, so a little got on the outside “metal” of this waffle maker, leaving a faint stain on its finish. It was so HOT on Level 4 that I decided to wait to wipe it off when I was done making one pair of waffles. That took only a few minutes, but it was another 30 minutes before I could wipe off that baked-on batter. It wasn’t too noticeable, but I could tell that I’d really mess up its nice silver finish in a matter of months bc I intend to use it more than once a week. I’d be less likely to drip batter onto a hot waffle maker from a batter cup held by my right hand if I didn’t need to close it up and then turn the darn thing upside down quickly with my left hand, so a stationary model would be a better choice for me. I also wasn’t happy about having to wipe clean all those nooks and crannies on its waffle irons! They are very deep and make a fantastic waffle, but I spent way too much time wiping off every bit of sprayed on avocado oil from in between them. I hated to box it back up after my husband and I finished enjoying those first two Belgium waffles. (See close-up photo of a leftover piece of mine, measuring a full 7/8” thick.) They were SO good! But the finish at the latch looked like it may begin peeling off at some point, and I really need an entirely different type to also enjoy making them. So, I’ve sent it back and am now looking forward to making many different kinds of waffles, very soon, with a Cuisinart model that is both stationary and has removable iron plates that I can easily hand-wash in my sink. Thank you, Amazon, for making this exchange process so easy — and so fast! And thank you, Cuisinart for offering such a model that also includes an extra set of iron plates so I can use it to make four 4” pancakes instead of four (although somewhat smaller) waffles if I want!

great additon to my kitcken
absolutely love it. works very well, making pumpkin waffles and pancakes regularly. I cook on lowest setting as it cooks fast and browns. I even toast bread with it. I think it is versatile enough to cook dinner items as well. Cleans up easily. Seems well built. It is pricey for a waffle pancake grill so I hesitated getting it but glad I did and would buy it again. I am using it alot so I will see if it holds up.

High Quality, professional waffles!
When the first Oster Belgian waffle maker took a dive a year ago I was disappointed. So I bought another. This one was redesigned, made with ceramic plates and I tried it and I did not love it. I made waffles that had dull edges and made waffles that were not as thick and just kind of flat as far as crispiness and shape. I haven't even had it four months. Every year I make my family Belgian Waffles covered with strawberries and whipped cream on Christmas morning. This years, I used my newest Oster with the ceramic plates and the waffles were sogged down with the strawberry topping. Th er y were a mess! I was so disappointed! My husband had ordered me this Cuisinart Belgian for Christmas but it wasn't going to arrive in time for Christmas. It arrived last night and tested it this morning. I was very pleased with the ease of use and that it has an off and on switch! I love that you can make two waffles at a time, so breakfast will be quick and a snap! I love that it beeps when it's ready to use and also when your waffle is done! What I love most about it, is that creates the most crispy and thick waffle that is perfectly browned to your liking! It has a adjustable knob that you can adjust how brown you want your waffle. Also green indicator lights for both the top and bottom layers. The true test of how good the waffle turned out, was ladling strawberry topping and the waffle remained crispy from the first bite to the last! The unit is really big, so I'm not sure how I'm going to store, but I absolutely am happy with this purchase! I look forward to making waffles for the family for years to come. Cuisinart got it right!!

Recomendada ampliamente.

Awesome double waffle maker!!
Since buying this waffle maker our family of 6 has waffles nearly every weekend! Super easy to use, quickly cooks two large waffles at a time, even the kids use it! Cooks to a perfect crispy outside while the centre stays fluffy. Pretty easy to clean, though the seams of the base take a little more effort if the batter spills over. The turning mechanism works smoothly and the whole thing stores easily!
