Updated & Re-Edited. 35th of 37 Emma Lathen R. B. Dominic Series. Murder Out of Commission takes us into the world of South American countries, American foreign aid, private foundations, students abroad, American Government agencies, bribery and more. Ben Safford (D.,Ohio) once again solves the mystery as John Putnam Thatcher does in Emma Lathenโs Wall Street banking mysteries. Review: TASTY MYSTERY - Another favorite in the series of business-is-murder mysteries by my favorite author, Emma Lathen. Always witty, never dumbs down the vocabulary or business technicalities. Yet you'll enjoy every page of well-hidden clues while learning a lot about the franchise business model. And you're not likely to find the murderer lurking among those buckets of fried chicken to go, until the last chapter reveals all. Review: I love this series - I love this series! The books are not too technical (the author gives enough information about Wall Street and banking for the reader to understand it's context for the mystery). The main characters are likeable and humerous at times.

TASTY MYSTERY
Another favorite in the series of business-is-murder mysteries by my favorite author, Emma Lathen. Always witty, never dumbs down the vocabulary or business technicalities. Yet you'll enjoy every page of well-hidden clues while learning a lot about the franchise business model. And you're not likely to find the murderer lurking among those buckets of fried chicken to go, until the last chapter reveals all.

I love this series
I love this series! The books are not too technical (the author gives enough information about Wall Street and banking for the reader to understand it's context for the mystery). The main characters are likeable and humerous at times.

Not Worthy of Emma Lathen
My copy opens with the entire first two paragraphs from a different, legitimate Emma Lathen book. This is a poor substitute for the author.

Love the book but the text contains many errors
I am very thankful that the hard-to-find books by Emma Lathen/RB Dominic are being provided as Kindle editions by Simply Media Inc/Deaver Brown, but they really need to pay attention to their editing. Among other typos, throughout this book the word "case" (which occurs over 20 times) has been rendered as "carr". In the Afterword section, the title of the book being described is given as "Murder Out of Commission" when it should be "Murder in High Place" -- an error also committed in the list in the frontmatter titled "Characters Only in Murder Out of Commission," which are actually characters from "Murder in High Place." The book is also prefaced by many, many pages of advertising/promo and completely unnecessary information. And don't even get me started on the hijacking of Emma Lathen's characters in a new series of absolutely dreadful novels purporting to be a continuation of the John Putnam Thatcher mysteries.

I am still missing 2 of the Emma Lathen/RB Dominic reprints.
Thank you, Amazon, you have reprinted one of my favourites authors. Given that my own paperbacks dated from the original publications, they are a godsend. You also reprinted Charlotte MacLeod's series. I have all of them. Any possibility of reprinting Dell Shannon's Mendoza series?
