what size do i know how to get

Whatever your normal size is. Ordered this for my boyfriend-- he is normally a medium in shirts, so I ordered a medium.

A lot of complaints that it sheds.. would it help to vacuum it first?

we didn't have a shedding problem, although it is faux fur. Just a suggestion, if you want - we did also purchase a genuine coyote tail (cheap on amazon) to go with the outfit. My husband preferred this simple costume over a whole big bad wolf get up because it was not a hot/sweaty face mask. Hope it helps.

Do the pants come with or would I need to buy it separately?

Pants are separate. I just put on a regular pair of jeans with some boots and it looked fine.
