Sony 14mm f/1.8 G Master E-Mount Full-Frame Ultra-Wide Prime Lens – Ideal for Astrophotography, Landscapes, and Interiors

Have used this for the past year for landscape and astro photography... Super clear and super sharp! Excellent pairing with the A7R V camera! Superb colour reproduction also!

This lens is rather good, it is a GM which is top of range. A bit heavy, but not too much. Quality is great. There is some stretching on the far edges, this appears to be a common thing with very wide lenses. No obvious fringing, fast, great for astro. Very sharp in the centre, edges are good, but some very slight field distortion.

Superb lens with minimal distortion for such a wide angle. Excellent sharpness and everything you would expect from a GM.

Beast of a wide angle lens for my Sony a7iv, use it for events, filming and more. Build quality is top notch, with a chunky end cap to keep the bulbous front element protected. I use an ND filter that goes into the lens mount on the camera, as I found it difficult to find ND filters to fit the lenses base. Look of the images are sharp as hell, with colour and contrast being way higher than wide angle zooms in a similar focal length.

This lens is incredible, just watch the YouTube reviews if you'd like to know more. The build quality is incredible and the picture quality is amazing, pin sharp. Only negative is, its struggles to auto focus above f10, but that not a problem as I use its between f1.8-f7 normally. This lens is well worth the price tag.

I am sure that Sony would have thoughts on the woefully inadequate packaging used to send this excellent lens to me. How can this possibly be acceptable? Also, no one-time password was required for a £1399 lens!!!

Ok , so to start with this lens is fantastic its no secret it's one of the best in class for this camera . I'm not going to bore people by talking about th finer points of the photo it takes because this is a review, not a book . But what I will say is for landscapes , astrophotography or anything where you want a large expanse in the photo .....you're in safe hands with this lens it is well built and clearly premium which you'd expect given the price point but its worth it on many levels. Definitely worth investing in . The video I've added is two incredibly short timelapses created with photos taken from this lens in frankly some of the worst possible conditions and it still delivers what most average users would want even when lighting is completely wrong for photographing the stars due to the light pollution.

Required wide angle use lens and it was ideal.

Calidad de construcción muy buena con un enfoque rápido y preciso probado en una a7 i y la rapidez aun asi se nota poca distorsión para mi gusto vs otras lentes . Probado también en una a6500 y el enfoque ya es una maravilla tanto a ojo como normal . Cuesta acostumbrarse si es tu primera lente gran angular pero la nitidez que da en las fotos y demas merece la pena el precio y tamaño ya que si lo comparas con el sigma o usar uno canon L con el metabones la diferencia de peso y tamaño se nota haciendo perfecto para llevarlo a todos lados y poder disfrutarlo el tema de poder cambiar el diafragma como antiguamente Tambien es maravilloso cuando te acostumbras para mi es mas facil que cambiarlo en la camara . Del boton programable no puedo hablar mucho ya que lo uso en la a7 i y no tienes mucha personalización como las nuevas generaciones. El tema de filtros nd puedes usar uno haida que ronda el adaptador y los filtros sobre unos 110€ o usar los que se ponen en el sensor de la camara estos segundos te ahorras de tocar la lente ya que tienes de quitar un tornillo para poner el adaptador de filtros haida . Cosa que después de eso nose si seguirá cubriendo la garantía.

Tengo un 12-24 a 2.8, y en un evento me llevé este 14 para probar algunas escenas, la verdad fue que lo usé más de lo que pensaba pues se prestó para muchas escenas donde tenias que salir todos los invitados bailando junto a los novios. Muy buena distancia focal

Je suis très satisfait de cet objectif. Dès la pleine ouverture, le piqué est remarquable au centre de l’image et reste excellent sur les bords. Le poids modéré et le format compact le rendent très maniable, même sur de longues sessions ou en déplacement. L’autofocus est rapide, précis et silencieux, idéal pour la photo comme pour la vidéo. Seul petit bémol : l’absence de filetage pour filtres frontaux, mais cela se contourne avec un porte-filtres adapté. En résumé, un investissement pertinent pour ceux qui recherchent un ultra-grand-angle lumineux, fiable et réellement professionnel.

Ich habe dieses Objektiv für Astrofotografie und Architekturaufnahmen getestet und bin absolut begeistert! Mit meiner Sony A7RIII konnte ich keinerlei Mängel feststellen, weder in der Bildqualität noch in der Leistung. Die Aufnahmen waren gestochen scharf, ohne sichtbare Verzerrungen oder Koma, selbst bei Offenblende von f1.8. Ein direkter Vergleich mit dem Sony 12-24mm f2.8 GM zeigte, dass das Sony Sel-14F18GM weniger Verzerrungen an den Ecken aufweist und deutlich lichtstärker ist. Für meine Anforderungen war das 14er GM die klare Wahl, weshalb ich das 12-24 GM verkauft habe. Die Handhabung des Objektivs ist ebenfalls hervorragend, es ist leicht und kompakt, was es besonders angenehm zu bedienen macht. Trotz des Preises bin ich der Meinung, dass die Leistung und die Ergebnisse jeden Cent wert sind. Es ist erstaunlich, wie gut dieses Objektiv arbeitet und wie präzise es selbst die weitesten Landschaften einfängt. Ich bin begeistert von der Qualität und kann es jedem, der Wert auf exzellente Bildergebnisse legt, wärmstens empfehlen. Einziger Kritikpunkt ist die möglicherweise bessere Schärfe des Sony Sel-20F18G im Vergleich zum Sony Sel-14F18GM, wie von einem anderen Rezensenten erwähnt. Doch für mich überwiegen die Vorteile des 14er GM, insbesondere für meine spezifischen Anwendungen. Insgesamt kann ich das Sony Sel-14F18GM uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen, besonders für Astrofotografen, die nach einem herausragenden Weitwinkelobjektiv suchen.
