Best for Buck buy, esp for gaming pcs. You dont really need i7 processors for gaming build. Invest money in a better graphic card.

Ce CPU en a dans le ventre. Couplé à un SSD (Crucial MX500 M.2) et quelques 8Go de mémoire vive DDR4, on obtient pour 500€ une tour complète parfaite pour la bureautique. L'ordinateur est très réactif, les temps de chargement quasi-inexistants et un démarrage de Windows 10 aussi rapide que sur mon PC principal (i9 9900k, SSD M.2 NVMe, RTX 2080 Ti OC). Non, il n'y a pas à dire, le rapport performance/prix de ce petit CPU est excellent. Je n'ai pas installé de carte graphique et utilise donc le chipset graphique intégré (Intel Graphics 630), ce qui est amplement suffisant pour une utilisation hors jeux-vidéos. Celui-ci permet entre autres une lecture fluide d'une vidéo 4K (Bluray 2160p HDR10 UHD à 24,5 Mbps, plus DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 à 3.7Mbps), ce qui est une belle performance sans carte graphique ! Il est possible de lui ajouter une carte graphique du type GTX 1080 pour transformer votre PC bureautique en PC gamer (~350€), à moins de vouloir jouer en 4k, aucun jeu ne lui résistera. Niveau température, à 30% de charge constante (CPU + Chipset graphique), le CPU monte à... 23°C, ce qui se passe de commentaire. A cela, nous pouvons ajouter la garantie 3 ans, et le fait que le ventirad et la pâte thermique sont inclus (Ce qui n'a pas été le cas pour mon i9 9900k). Je recommande chaudement !

So in a now fair and competitive market how does a seemingly underpowered 4 Core i5 stack up? To start off I have spent over a month using this CPU and am trying to create an argument as to if this processor is still relevant in a post Ryzen-5 era. This will be the latest desktop grade processor I have purchased to date and yet it makes a compelling argument for itself when I compare it to the likes of my i7-6700k, i7-4790, Zeon E3-1230 V5, i5-6600k, and my latest and greatest Ryzen 7-1700x. So I bought this CPU for my latest mITX build, and the small form factor was of biggest importance in this build. I absolutely needed portability. And even a month later when I am writing this review my need for small form factor still would shape my decision when choosing the i5-7500 over the leading competitor, the Ryzen 5-1500x. Spec wise let’s compare the two CPU’s: -i5-7500: Clock Speed 3.4GHz, Max Turbo 3.8GHz, 4 Cores, 4 Threads, Will NOT Overclock, Stock Cooler Included, price at time of purchase on Amazon $264.99 -Ryzen 5-1500x: Clock Speed 3.5GHz, Max Turbo 3.7GHz, 4 Cores, 8 Threads, WILL Overclock, Stock Cooler Included, price at time of purchase on Amazon $259.99 So for the same money spent you can get an additional 4 threads and the ability to overclock if you purchase the 1500x. Not to mention at stock frequency the i5-7500 is usually at most only 2-5 FPS higher over the 1500x and that’s before it is overclocked. Once the 1500x is overclocked it takes the cake in all games over this i5. The 1500x is also far better in multi-threaded workloads so if you plan on using your computer for any kind of editing or design software (which I use) then the 1500x is a no brainer. To redeem the 7500 though it does have slightly better single core performance over the 1500x, which in gaming is what keeps it so close between this and 1500x. This i5-7500 does make sense though at a price to performance standpoint when you look at it compared to the other CPU’s I own. It is the least powerful of the bunch but for the budget it really does perform amazingly. So at this point you may be asking yourself why you’d consider the i5-7500 and how have I given it a 5-star review? This is when I will establish my argument. As I use this computer for 3D design, video editing, and software coding I was looking at system stability, I couldn’t worry about a system that would need constant bios updates or have any down time. I know Ryzen support has vastly improved since launch and I have very recently bought a 1700x that will be my main system soon (this was a no brainer as the Ryzen 7 lineup is an embarrassment to the i7-6800k and i7-6900k). But at the time of purchase there was still issues I had concerns with, and even the 1700x I bought won’t be in proper use for another 3 months roughly. But this next point is my absolute biggest argument for the i5 and i7, Skylake and Kabylake CPU’s. ITX form factor. Plain and simple, at the time of purchase there were no mITX motherboards available for the Ryzen platform and even now I can only find 2 Biostar motherboards available that don’t even compare to the features of the Asus ROG STRIX Z270i Gaming motherboard I bought and needed. And as I needed a small build, mITX was my biggest necessity for this build and essentially made my choice for me. I plan on replacing the CPU in this build with an i7-6700k I have in another build, and will move this i5 processor to a build that will be even smaller, which I will run the system with the integrated graphics. So this is what shaped my decision. This CPU also is quite a powerful little punch and I’m happy with the performance it provides. Under heavy loads it will turbo boost constantly as I am keeping it quite cool in my system. I have 16GB of Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz RAM, and a GPU I had sitting around not getting used, my EVGA GTX 960 FTW ACX 2.0 4GB. I don’t game a bunch but in Battlefront I average about 80FPS at 1080p ultra settings, in Battlefield 4 I get about 95FPS with the same settings, in GTAV I’ll get about 70FPS same settings, and finally in LOTR Shadow of Mordor I hit around 70FPS as well with the same settings. And for the money I spent on this build I’m happy with my overall system performance. Even in my heavily threaded workload applications. And despite the fact that the Ryzen 5 1500x is going to be a better option for 80% of people I think this is still a good and relevant option for many PC builders, and is a great choice for those of us who need the portability and compact size of mITX form factor. I’m keeping this CPU very cool with the Thermaltake Frio 12 Silent and in day-to-day use (consists of 10hrs plus of running time each day) my max temps never go higher than 40 degrees C. Even under synthetic tests my i5-7500 only hit a cool 55 degrees C under full load on using Aida64 (after 3hrs of stress testing the CPU). Even while turbo boosting to 3.7-3.8GHz almost throughout the entire test! So with even a small cooler you’ll get great performance out of this processor. So to wrap this up I think for many reasons this is still a valid and smart option for many people out there. I do think once the Ryzen platform comes out with more mATX and mITX motherboards from the top manufacturers Intel will have lost all its competition in the i5 vs Ryzen 5 line up. So as pleased as I am with this CPU and my build, I think it’s best to weigh the differences between the i5-7500 and 1500x and chose which makes more sense for you, and keep in mind that the 1500x is the more powerful of the two. So do your research! But to those interested in this processor I can definitely recommend it! (I also have reviews of the i5-6600k, and the i7-6700k, with system pictures. My Ryzen 7 1700x review probably won’t come for another 3 months though.)

Als ich dabei war mir einen neuen PC aufzusetzen, wollte ich mir erst das Vorgänger-Modell i5-6500 kaufen, als ich jedoch sah, dass der i5-7500 sogar günstiger ist, habe ich mich natürlich für diesen entschieden. Alles in allem funktioniert der Prozessor tadellos und bringt die nötige Performance für alles, was ich damit tue. Ob Gaming, Multimedia, Videobearbeitung oder nur Office- und Surfe-Verhalten, der i5 ist allem gewachsen. Somit habe ich mir das Geld für einen i7 gespart und kann trotzdem keinerlei Einbußen feststellen. Folgendes Setup ist verbaut: ASRock Z170 Pro4 Mainboard 16 GB DDR4 RAM Samsung EVO 850 SSD Tip Top. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen!
