USB Digital Microscope, Teslong 10X to 200X Magnification Camera with Stand, Portable Handheld Electronic Coin Magnifier, Soldering Camera Ear Otoscope

This is a great little tool and is somewhat unique in that it has a focus adjustment on the back end of the probe. The closer the tip of the probe is to the object and focused, the higher the magnification, farther away, lower magnification. The focus adjustment allows a very broad range of magnifications to be achieved. The internal illumination is adjustable and works very well. The long and narrow geometry allows access to tight spaces where clearance is limited. The stand is sturdy and easy to use and there are several attachments that can be used to look into tight spaces like at back-tooth, for example. The only issue I had was with the Mac software that was recommended, which was not particularly user-friendly. It works, but needs some effort. It is also unfortunate that it cannot be used with iPhones. Friends with non-apple phones and PCs have had fewer software issues. For the price, you can't beat the functionality of this microscope!

The resolution is quite good, better than I expected. The focus knob at the end is very handy. The included 2-in-1, USB-A/micro USB-B adapter is very clever and cool. It also came with a small USB-C to USB-A adapter (I'm not able to test) that looks similar to USB C Adapter, Rankie 2-Pack Hi-speed USB-C to USB-A 3.0 Adapter for USB Type-C Devices but has no brand name. Regarding the CD included with the item: As of the date of this review (April 20, 2017), the CD has a more up-to-date Windows program "Teslong Camera.exe" than the ones downloadable from the several URL's printed in the instruction booklet or on the box itself. There's no "driver" and no software setup per se, just a stand-alone program to run. I tested on my Windows 10 desktop. There's a second Windows program called Amcap.exe made by Microsoft dated 2014 but I found "Teslong Camera.exe" to have a better user interface and more features. I did not try the Android app, nor the VLC media viewing program included for Macintosh computers. There's a small, transparent plastic ring that came in the box but there is nothing that indicates what it is for. I used the Teslong Camera to take the attached photo of it. The instructions do say very prominently, in red, "This device is not intended for medical use or personal inspection." I did buy this because the Amazon item description says it can be used as an otoscope (ear canal/eardrum inspection). I have no medical training but I think it is perfectly usable to see if someone has a foreign object lodged in there. It reaches deep enough for my purposes. I do wish, as someone else commented, that it had some physical mark or grove to show which direction is "up", but this is a minor point. Recommended.

I was impressed with the solid construction and performance. 8 internal LED illuminate the subject. I am using it for checking solder joints on bad PCB's. The magnification is adequate for me - see photos. It sits on the desk and I move the subject around and an take photos on my Mac. Uses the Photo Booth app - select the camera in the Photo Booth application menu on the Mac and go to full screen for really big pictures Its mechanically stable and the adjustment bracket works well. Very useful tool for me. Wish I had bought one earlier. It comes with various attachments to be able to view print on paper etc This appeared to be the best value for me... Came with attachments for a PC and an android. Does not function with iPhone or iPad I just noticed the light adjust in the cord. Even better.

Very disappointed. In the instructions, there is a card to scan to download the app to use with this. This microscope is not on the list of instruments to use with the app, and my card was charged an unauthorized $12.99 membership fee, which is not mentioned in the advertisement on Amazon. The app then took over my browser and kept popping up over top of my home page. That occurred even after removing the icon from my phone, and from my phone's app settings. Update: In addition to $12.99 previously charged to my card, 3 other unauthorized charges have been made. $46.83, $2.99, $39.99. DO NOT scan the card in the box with this microscope. It is a scam!!!!

Cool is it on for microscope there's a lot of things that it comes in handy for looking at coins looking inside my Motors just looking at your skin and see things you've never seen before

Using the product to identify pests and pest damage on a large farm. Thought this would be great for field use considering the ease of viewing it through the phone, but unfortunately that feature does not work. Upon searching other online forums for a solution, I found that there are a lot of reports describing the same problem, and with no fix. It seems the company has not updated their viewing app for android and is unusable entirely, Couldn't find any other application or fix to view through the phone. I did expect some downside or defect to the product being a cheap Chinese sourced product. Computer Software: Got it to work on Windows 10 laptop just fine. Came with a CD for install, but i could not read it. Just downloaded the software from their website. Ill keep it just because it was so cheap, and not worth the trouble to return and find a similar working model, but for anyone looking for similar application, i would recommend looking for another similar product. Quality: OK, can see small hairs, and barely visible bugs on plant (Mites, Russets, Insect Eggs, etc..) For diagnosing in the field it will work. I can tell whether the bugs are moving, or dead after spraying.
