We needed these clocks for off-grid (no electricity) RV living. We first bought the same clock in blue a year ago. It's still working out so well that we decided to get the red one for our bedroom. So, this review is mainly based on the clock we originally bought. Why we love these clocks: 1. Powered ONLY by (4) standard AA alkaline batteries. NO cords/charging required, which is pretty uncommon. 2. Large easily-read display. 3. Includes 3 brightness levels. We find the lowest setting quite bright enough, even during the day. 4. Doubles as a nightlight - even lowest brightness is similar to a dim nightlight. We personally find the red to be the most "soothing" for sleeping hours (a circadian-rhythm thing?). 5. Energy efficient - when kept on lowest brightness setting, 4 AA batteries last at least 6 months! 6. Keeps time accurately - I periodically check the time against my smart phone and have never had to adjust time. Conclusion: These reliable little clocks have exceeded all our expectations and have turned out to be well worth their modest price tag.

Three years ago, I needed a simple digital clock and chose this one. This clock is so good, I decided to buy a second one! Here are the positives (can't think of negatives): a) digital clock with an alarm that stays accurate until the next battery change b) super intuitive operation -- you won't need to find the instructions if you need to reset the time c) runs on 4 AA batteries and is low drainage. My Duracells only need replacing about every 18 months d) when the batteries run down, the indication is that the numerals grow dim rather than simply shutting the clock down (this is good in emergency situations) e) can be used in a bedroom without it lighting it up the entire room when it is dark. I have the green numerals and keep it on "low" display f) small enough to slide in anywhere with a simple classic exterior that doesn't call attention to itself g) good sized numerals that can easily be read across the room. The size of the numerals is not too large, however, and doesn't draw attention to itself h) super inexpensive without being cheap i) very lightweight and portable. On occasion, I have taken this out of my bedroom and used it in another location (outside). That's why I decided it was just better to get a second one!

This is an excellent battery operated alarm clock. What I like most about it is that I do not have to push a button to see the time at night. Plus you can see the time from across a room. The battry life has been super. The brightness of this clock is perfect. I have had this clock for five years and have had absolutely not problem with it. It meets my every need. Getting ready to purchase another to keep in our rv.

This is a great clock. I bought two nearly identical ones in beige years ago and they’re still going strong. This new one in white is a slightly different material - thinner, glossier plastic - and the dimmer option has 3 settings instead of being light responsive. I like the dimmer settings very much as a dim red display is the #1 quality I look for in a clock. I do find that the lowest setting is still bright enough to be seen during the day. One thing I notice about both old and new models is that although they are designed to run with 4 AA batteries, they’ll turn on with only 2. It’s very easy to set the time on these, although with the older models I’ve noticed they tend to run a little fast. Not sure if this one will be similar. I’m attaching a photo of this clock next to a similar but smaller model. I think this one is a good size although it’s not necessarily compact. I also think the background of the display is lower contrast, which I like (and which is why I kept this one and returned the other).

I liked this product so much that I bought a second one for another room. The numbers are clear and easy to read. It is reliable and silent and does the job.

I've only worked with this alarm clock for a few minutes, but I like what I see. You don't need instructions to set the clock and alarm EXCEPT for disabling the SNOOZE. You must press and HOLD the 12/24 button to toggle snooze function. My old alarm gradually lost alarm volume. It became so low that you can hear if awake, but no way could it awaken a sleeping person. I tested the alarm on this clock. Though you cannot adjust the volume, its starts out sufficientiy loud then over its' 90 second alarm cycle becomes progressively LOUDER. Unless you are hard of hearing, I believe this is plently loud to awaken even a sound sleeper. Because of the ability to disable SNOOZE, touching the top of the clock will stop the alarm until the next alarm time comes around. It's a nice touch to be able to adjust the brightness of the display. Especially if it's on low, the brightness of the display should never keep anyone awake. It is powered with 4 AA batteries. This should be enough battery power to keep it powered a good long time, though I have not owned it long enough to know the actual battery life. After putting this clock through the paces, I'm very impressed with what I've seen. I have not owned it long enough to know if if it keeps accurate time, but should I find it will not keep time accurately, I will return to this review and update with that information. Based on what I know now, I would recommend this product as a BUY.

If you want an easy-to-set clock, KEEP LOOKING! Because this isn't it. Made of cheap plastic w/poor time setting. When I try to set the minutes it usually switches to the alarm. I finally gave up & left it a minute off. [The large display is nice, though, if you just want to look at some big numbers that aren't the actual time.] 😵‍💫

Will be ordering 1-2 more for the kitchen and bathroom. It was a little tricky to get set up. It’s definitely not intuitive. Just looking at the back and I finally gave up trying to do it on my own and read the instructions, lol. Highly recommend reading the instructions by the way. The last time I had an old school alarm clock was in high school, and the sound was so jarring. I hated it. It’s been a good 20+ years since then and I was dreading that sound again. I am pleasantly surprised that the alarm sound is adequate, but not obnoxiously loud or unpleasant. What I love the most about it is that the sound gradually gets louder the longer you don’t turn it off and it doesn’t start off very loud to begin with, but is loud enough to wake you up. I was also concerned that having the light of the numbers on in the dark would bother me- I got the alarm with the red display and it does not bother me one bit when I’m trying to sleep. The numbers are very big and bold and I have no issues reading what time it is from across the room without my glasses on and I am nearsighted. I love that it came in white because I wanted something different than the standard black alarm clocks from olden days, and the White goes better with my decor. Overall, I think it’s a great value for the price.

Fine product. I haven't noticed any problems mentioned in past negative reviews, I think the manufacturer has changed some things. It is bright enough to see in the day, but not too bright for night. The numbers are big and easy to see. I've only had it a week, so I can't say much about battery life, but since I use rechargeable batteries I don't expect any problems. I don't find the settings difficult to change. Perfect that it doesn't have a power cord, the batteries are enough.

Good display, any one can buy without thinking. Delivery it will take almost one month but still you can wait for this product.

This is a brilliant clock! Because it’s battery operated, there are no problems with wires or plug sockets. It is also very easy to see the time (even without my glasses on!) Not too bright that it lights up the bedroom at night either. Great value too!

The numbers are large and easy to read both day and night. But it is not too bright. It sits very near my face when I'm sleeping but it does not disturb me at all. A prefect travel clock to take when visiting countries that have different electricity as it runs totally on batteries.
