I knew it was going to be really hot and very humid. I experimented before the race in similar weather conditions with placing ice bags inside the front of my shirt. I realized I needed a binder to hold them firmly against my skin to get really substantial cooling. So I bought several sized binders from NYOrtho. THEY ARE ALL VERY HIGH QUALITY. I wasn't sure how long a binder I would need. It turns out this 45-60" long one did the trick and worked perfectly. Having two large bags full of ice against my abdomen made a huge difference in my ability to compete in the afternoon day sun. Again, the binder is very high quality and used post-operatively or for a ventral hernia it would be very useful.
