Those individual slugs can now cost anywhere from about a dollar to $1.70 apiece, which adds up quickly when you’re making a lot of battery cables. I figured out that I could put a little flux inside the battery lug, cut this solder into roughly quarter-inch pieces, pack enough of those pieces into the lug, and then melt them down with a torch. It does the exact same job as the expensive pre-made solder slugs at a fraction of the cost. I’ve also used this for regular wiring connections, and it works great for that too. Whether I’m soldering smaller electrical connections or making heavy battery cables, this solder has worked well for me.
