OWLTRA OW-2 Electric Mouse Trap, Instant Kill Rodent Zapper with Pet Safe Trigger, Black

Can’t praise this trap enough. Had initially used classic cheap snap traps but the mouse kept getting away with the bait every time. Got some of the more expensive ’Phantom’ snap traps from Amazon in the hope of catching him but again it took the bait without fail every night. It had the luck to take it from 4 of them in one night! I started to lose hope of getting this mouse myself and resorted to getting sticky traps. Again the mouse knew to avoid these and also continued to take the bait off other traps. For one final attempt I got one of these traps in the hope of catching it. Lo and behold within 3 hours of putting the trap out he was caught. A week of trying multiple other traps and it was sorted so quickly with this. Design wise I really like it. It’s pretty discreet as far as traps go. It’s well built and the caught indicator is very good. No more being anxious to keep checking the trap to see if anything was caught. Personally I didn’t empty the trap but my housemate said it was pretty easy and he didn’t have to touch the mouse. No mess at all and a bonus is he didn’t touch the bait so was able to immediately reset it and have it out again incase there is more than 1. I’m definitely holding on to this to use as a preventative measure. The other traps are going into the bin. Trust me the price is worth it. The mouse itself was on the smaller/medium sized end so can see why no matter the sensitivity why the traps with platforms never triggered.

I spent a long time reading about these electric traps, not once did I read that any of them had dispatched a rat. I was very sceptical but also desperate. I’d tried the peppermint spray, moved stuff around the garden but the rats just kept coming. I finally decided to buy this one as it’s suitable for outside. I’d also read that it can take a few days for the rodents to get used to the trap so I wasn’t too hopeful when we put it out yesterday. First night out and it actually killed a rat!! Highly recommended. I might even get a second one!

Didn't catch a single mouse. Realised why when I caught sight of one of them. The entrance to the trap is too small. The only mice it might have caught would have been young ones.

On the first night the trap was set up it caught a mouse at 5 to 1 in the morning, the light flashes when there is something caught in the trap which is brilliant as you don't have to check if you've caught anything. Gives me real peace of mind that I can deal with this mouse problem quickly and efficiently myself. Worth every penny and fantastic design, one very happy customer,would recommend to others who have pesky uninvited guests in their home !!

I was sceptical of this device but wow I was wrong. I’ve had mice in my garage for a while now and they got very clever to eat the bait off the snap traps without getting caught. I set this up and within an hour this had caught one. Reset it and that night it had another. Just brilliant 👌. Highly Recommended.

The device was as per the web page information. The user's manual however contains an email address viz: service-hiowltra.com,which does not connect to the company. Would you please assist as I have a problem with this device I would like to be dealt with. Regards, Willie

This is really effective. I put peanut butter in and didn't turn it on the first night to see if the mouse would go in - it certainly did. So second night I turned it on and it caught a mouse within a couple of hours. Put it on again the next afternoon to see if there were any more, and another was in there within a couple of hours again. Seems to be more humane, looks like it would be pretty instant. Much easier to dispose of than traditional traps too. I have dogs and this is also easy to put out of the way? I'd be much more nervous with traditional traps and the dogs.

This rat trap device does its purpose but id say the power of the electrocution could be a little higher. I don't know if it was the batteries (Duracell's) I used but it stunned/injured the rat and I had to unfortunately "finish it off" and dispose it. If another one appears and it stays in the trap five stars will be given.

Estoy sorprendida de su eficacia. Sinceramente dude en comprarla porque había puesto una trampa de jaula y pasado un mes no se metió, tuve que optar por trampas de pegamento, y tampoco caía. Dude que se metiera a ésta y al día siguiente de que la puse por la noche, cayó por fin la rataita.

Muy sorprendido con el funcionamiento. Cumple con su cometido. Ideal este modelo dado que tiene un leve pitido alterno en el tiempo que te avisa del premio... Ideal para huecos escondidos o falsos techos. Así te olvidas de andar mirando. La información del fabricante es mínima, revisar mis fotos donde subo el manual y las características. Se puede desconectar el pitido alterno. Lastima tener que usarlo, pero por lo menos los bichos se van al otro barrio de una manera más limpia. Recomiendo meter como cebo queso, es infalible...

The trap works really well. I’ve killed so many mice, TOO many. I had no idea there were this many mice getting into my apartment. 12 mice in 8 days. I wish it didn’t have to be reset between kills. Because I keep waking up with the green light flashing, there’s a dead mouse inside and the bait is totally gone. So a living mouse is climbing over his friends dead body for a snack. Today I opened it to the most horrifying sight. TWO MICE INSIDE. One dead, one alive and eating the dead one’s face. I wish I was joking. I might be traumatized from this mouse trap. But yes, 5 stars.

Zuerst war ich skeptisch. Aber nach 2 Tagen lag die erste Ratte tot im Kasten. Nach weiteren 8 Tagen hatte ich weitere 5 gefangen. Als Köder hatte ich kleine Schnittkäsestücke mit Nutella verwendet. Wichtig ist die Anordnung, die Köder sind so anzuordnen, dass die Ratte auf 2 Metallscheiben stehen muss, erst dann wird der Elektroschlag ausgeführt. Toll ist auch die Regenabdeckung.
