LeapStart Kindergarten Activity Book: Amazing Animals and Conservation

Our 5-year old has become very "studious" with his LeapFrog system and this book pops in and out of his reader as his mind decides. I wish there were many more pages here but the collection of things shared seems a great intro for our more and more curious little boy. He has also become attentive to time and time limits allowed to use his electric book, and has also been politely sharing things with his little (2-years old) brother - taking in a "teaching" mode when sharing. And best, he asks permission to use it since he knows there is a time limit and he also calls out to Mama and Papa to share new things he finds in the pages.

My 4-year-old is completely engaged (even when she has unexpired time available on her tablet; the tablet is a frequent priority until the parental settings freeze it up). She is really learning the lessons and sharing her achievements with us. I also love the range of relevant subject matter and the variety of countries and cultures included (I am especially pleased with the mini language lesson. Good choices!).

great introduction for younger kids to countries, cultures, and citizens different than themselves. big fan of these books!

My grandson just loves it

The LeapStart books are great for long car rides, without the kids playing on tablets. Have not found a book they did not like.

I have bought this for my son, as he is very into animals. It works with Leap Frog 3D and contains lots of animals. I know this book is recommended for Kindergarden, but it works for my 2 years old son.

Bad descriptions by now is a trademark of amazon.com. Who is at fault here: manufacturers? sellers? or amazon.com? I am pretty sure there's a mutual effort mixture from all of them. But from day one amazon.com could not be less careless about this issue. It causes us not just time and money but frustration. It would not be much of a big problem - after all, most of us here are adults and are able to handle our dissatisfaction but why children have to suffer as well?! This manufacturer for obvious reasons, as many others are doing, producing a line of products named alike, looked alike, and have the same purpose but are not compatible with each other. Trust me I've spent a huge amount of time trying to locate the appropriate books for the device that I had (bad) luck to present to my niece when visiting her family in Europe a few years ago. Recently she turned 10 years old and asked me if there are more books available. Not being able to travel this year to hug her I've arranged a shipment to arrive at her little anniversary. All those carefully calculated efforts turned out for nothing. When I had time to get back to research this problem one more time I finally found among a few dozens of answered questions and answer the one answer in the drop-down list indicating that this particular set of books is not compatible with the pen my niece has. And that was just one of the opinions among many others. Nothing about compatibility issues on the front and only product page! Some could say that is described above problem should not affect actual product review. Well, I'd say that an accurate description is an essential part of a product. One looking for an iron should not be ended up with a frying pan. Amazon, their seller and manufacturers are all providing us disrespect in that important matter for a long time!

Ideal for young ones

I bought this as a gift. It's a great way to learn about animals and have fun at the same time.

The book is exactly what was required. However upon installing only the right hand side pages were read correctly while the left side pages were not being read properly. The other books we have all read correctly. I also uninstalled and reset the system to see if it will fix the issue but still the left side pages of the book is not being read correctly. It seems to be skipping pages as in when the pen is pressed in page 8 the content from page 6 is being read out.

I bought this book for my toddler son to go in his leapstart Me being me paid absolutely no attention to the fact that this was for an older child and not for his age- but you know what- it really didnt matter! I get that it's aimed at older children- but my son has had lots of fun pressing the pen on the flags, and the globes- and theres a page which features a London bus- which he is obsessed with. I bought the leapstart for fun- and at some point he will get to the stage where it becomes educational- and hopefully he'll learn something from this book- until then he's quite happy pressing the pen onto the pics and having a good giggle
