This monograph states that the material is safe for children ages 6 and up." **Q: Is there a version of this medicine for kids under 6?** A: I've been giving this to my son since he was 2. I cut the dosage down to 1/2 tsp. I bought it originally because my doctor recommended it at an appointment when I was asking what I could use to help us over the winter season. I cannot believe how successful this has been for us. I was struck to write this review now because of the repeated colds that have been stopped in their tracks. Most recently, my son came home from school saying his head hurt and his throat hurt "real bad." I took his temp and it was 102.8. He was laying on the couch and miserable. I immediately gave the Umcka and tucked him in to bed early. His fever broke sometime during the night, and by noon the next day he was back to normal. Said his sore throat was gone, head was fine, energy was obviously back. This is not unique. We had many of these experiences over the last year. Myself, I usually get sick 4 - 6 times a year with colds, and only once did I get my "usual" 7 - 10 day drag out cold. I am so thankful to have found this.
