## Description

Product Description Ideal for digging extra deep holes for fences, railing, and post-installation, Fiskars Posthole Digger features heavy-duty, all-steel, welded construction for superior durability that far outlasts wood-handled tools and won't flex like fiberglass. This posthole digger also includes a welded steel pivot joint so there are no loose nuts or bolts. The long handle helps eliminate sore knees and back aches from bending and stooping, plus the off-set handles provide secure, two-handed control. The powder-coated steel resists rust and offers easy cleaning. Ergonomically designed and built for durability, the Fiskars Posthole Digger is ideal for helping you tackle extra deep holes with ease. Designed to help you transform the backyard, Fiskars lawn and gardening tools are equipped with smart technologies and award-winning, ergonomic features that make it easier and more enjoyable to perform your own lawn care. From pruning shears, lawn mowers, weeding tools, and tree cutters, we take a holistic approach to develop garden equipment that reflects hours of immersive study, research, and validation, resulting in gardening supplies that outperform the competition and feel like a natural extension of your body. desertcart.com The Fiskars post hole digger features a unique handle profile that prevents you from banging your knuckles together when digging holes. The offset handles allow you to dig a full foot deeper than standard post hole diggers (up to 4-feet deep), while its all-steel construction lets you tackle the tough jobs. Pre-sharpened to cut through the ground easier, the unit's blades are welded directly to the shaft for additional strength, and the entire tool is powder-coated to prevent rust.

Review: At the top of its class - The Fiskars 60'' Steel Posthole Digger is by far the best tool in its class. I am currently replacing and in some cases relocating the fence poles around my house. I started with a normal fiberglass posthole digger. Using the fiberglass digger was so tedious and hard that I decided to search online for an alternative. I was not interested in renting a machine since this project will take a few weeks. Research lead me to discovering this wonderful tool. Here are the pros: - Made out of steel - Heavier but that helps you dig deeper with less applied force. - Rigid - Handles do not flex like the fiberglass and the scoop holds the dirt/mud with minimal effort. - Ergonomic - Handles are designed so that you don't have to open or close them as wide as a normal digger. - Length - Long enough to reach far down. - Handles - No more pinched fingers and the design allows you to go deeper than traditional diggers. - Sold directly from desertcart and delivery time was reasonable. - Time saver - It takes me half the time to dig to the desired depth compared to my other digger. - Cons - None. I love the materials, craftmanship, design and color. - Value - Paid full price and it's worth every penny.
Review: Worked wonderfully on my heavy, clay soil - I wanted to dig two post holes so I could put in a small trellis. I decided to go with this all-steel one from Fiskars because I knew I was going to be hard on it while digging through my very heavy, clay soil. It arrived quickly and well-packaged and in excellent condition. I started my holes with a shovel first and then took a couple whacks with the post hole digger to get the shape and positioning right. I then filled the holes with water. Now, if I had a softer soil, I wouldn't have used the water, but when dry (and during this drought it's been very dry) my soil is rock hard. With the first hole, I had no troubles whatsoever. The second hole, however, had considerable obstacles, so it took me much longer to dig. I had to get a saw and loppers to cut through some thick roots, and there were a number of large rocks and even some pieces of bricks right where I was digging, and the post hole digger will not go through thick roots and rocks. Fortunately, the rocks were small enough that I could dig them out with a hand shovel, but if there was a larger rock that had only part of it in my path, I would have been SOL. I ended up digging my holes around 40 or so inches deep, and the post hole digger had plenty of further depth it could go. I would also like to mention that this thing is heavy, which is actually good since dropping it in the hole does a lot of the work for you. With softer soil, I might have been all right with a lighter digger, especially if I had to dig a lot of holes. One other important aspect is that this digger cut very nice and neat holes. I rotated around as I dug to make sure it was all getting cut evenly, but the end results were very good. The digger also held up very well to my abuse - nothing ever came loose or broke. It was also comfortable to use (I should note that I am 5'5", so I'm not a big guy). All in all, this digger met every expectation, and I'm very glad I purchased it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this work well digging on dirt with rocks?**
A: I highly recommend a digging bar for any post hole digger! I used to work for a municipality, and even they would use a bar for loosening tough soil.

**Q: how do you claim the life time warranty on this product?**
A: Contact Fiskars directly. I actually wore one out and contacted them and within a week they had sent me a new one Free, no questions asked. The part that wore out was the joint.

**Q: Why is a 2 pack $153 if one is $31?**
A: Idk. Good question. What’s the shipping cost difference and tax difference? Only thing I can think of?

**Q: It appears that this tool requires brute arm-strength alone. Am I right?**
A: No brute arm strength required. Simply place this specific brand of post hole digger over where you want your hole and let it do all the work. Grab a lawn chair, sit back and watch.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ sturdy tool
*by M***V on August 28, 2025*

Nice tool. Gets you a lot deeper than a standard post hole digger. Sturdy construction and not super heavy with the extra length you get. I would by another that was taller so when you get to the depth of this one you can switch to the taller tool to not have to bend over so far to reach the bottom of the hole. I would buy this tool again
