A Well Researched Book
This is a well researched look at the Occult. It’s aim appears to convince the sceptic!! For a believer like me....after all in India it’s a part of our basic beliefs....I found it unnecessarily long and repetitive. However it is a very important book and makes some stunning revelations. A definite read for anyone interested in the Occult even if it’s a tad too long!!

He also gives you references and other books that explore the psychology and reality of what the occult means and how it is a genuine aspect of our positions as sentient beings. Great introduction to the occult
Great historical background. Wilson narrative is direct and a comfort to read no matter the subject. Awesome work and narrative

A year's worth of reading in one book
This book is inches thick and all fascinating. The detail in this book is hard to find elsewhere, but here, literally all in one book. I bought it for the chapters on Ouspensky and Gurdieff, which were wonderful, but leafing through other chapters, I know it will make for great reading in the year to come.

Can’t wait
Just started reading and already know I won’t be disappointed. Colin Wilson makes compelling books and from what I read so far this might be his magnum opus so I’m guessing this will be a good one. It takes me some time to get into a book as I’m not much of a reader but when I get around to reading this book is on the top of my list to read.
