Nissan's manual specifies two types of oil filter for the X-Trail 2.2 T30; it's one or the other and they are not interchangeable. This filter is the spin-on/off type. Mann+Hummel produce excellent after-market filters, including those for oil, air, fuel and pollen. They are at least as good as the OEM filters and in my experience better. The X-Trail's filter change is simple with this filter. I change these with every oil change and have done so since I switched from allowing a garage to do the job. They used inferior filters, saving them a few pence but putting the engine at risk. The car has now exceeded 136000 miles.
