Some are smaller, and some are more slender. Personally, I have found that I enjoy using these brushes on the creamy makeup applications a lot more than the powder kind. The cream seems to brush into my face a lot easier.Here is what I like about this Oval Brush Kit:* The brush bristles are compact. This allows for just a little of make up to be trapped in the brush. Most of the make up goes on your face.* The brushes are comfortable to hold. I like the length and thickness of the handles.* The brush heads allow for you to control where the foundation is applied on your face. I like that the foundation does not go into my eyebrow area!* This 10 piece set is a great gift- for any woman.There are no instructions on how to use these brushes. I would suggest reading tutorials, or watching videos.I first started, by putting my foundation on my face and kind of distributing it evenly on my skin. Then, I used the brushes to swipe in into my skin. Depending on where I was swiping, depended on what size brush I used. The brushes are very soft to the face and they have a little bit of give, but they are strong enough to apply your makeup and blend it well. The heads all have slight variations for each makeup need to apply your makeup and blend it well. The 10 brushes all have slight variations so I wrote some of them are close in size, each has it on purpose. The brushes are flat enough to provide a look at isn't streaky, which I love. The brushes I found a apply the product in a way that required less makeup than normal. There was a brush for everything including my eyeshadow, blush and foundation. Some of them can even be used for brows. The handles were great because they feel good in your hand and are soft enough where your hand doesn't get tired from holding them. They are a great shape to hold in the hand to avoid fatigue, which was well thought out and well designed. A worthwhile purchase...Please note that I received this product at a reduced rate in return for my honest and unbiased review.
