4 Pin Solderless Waterproof LED Strip Connector - RGB Flex Ribbon Rope Tape Light Gapless Adapter for 10mm Wide Waterproof SMD 5050 RGB Flexible Strip Light (10pcs)

One strip of my grandson's LED light strip failed. So plugged it in and if the string was held "just right" it would light. A little fiddling and close visual inspection determined there was a very very small break in one of the very thin copper strips, So, carefully cut the strip as indicated and clamp on the connector as directed. Nothing!! Took if off and put it back on - Nothing. Hmmm? Took if off, turned the connector over so prongs come in from the other side and Let There Be Light. It does make a difference.

I bought these connectors for my waterproof RGB 5050 LED strip that is 10mm in width. They have successfully connected several pieces of my LED strips that had been cut off. I have summarized the installation steps and precautions for other shoppers' reference. Installation steps: 1.Carefully cut off the LED stip along the cutting line, so that the area of the 4 copper contacts on each LED strip is the same. 2.Remove the tape on the backside of the LED strip around the area of the 4 copper contacts, to expose the 4 copper contacts. 3.Close the LED strip in the connector, make sure to match the + electrode on the LED strip to the + electrode on the connector, make sure the 4 pins in the connectors totally penetrate the 4 copper contacts on the LED strip. Precautions: When installing these connectors to waterproof RGB 5050 LED strip, the most important thing is that the 4 pins in the connectors should be connected well with the 4 copper contacts on the LED strip. To get the 4 pins in the connectors and the 4 copper contacts on the LED strip connected well, when you cut your LED strip into 2 LED strips, you should cut very carefully along the cutting line, to make sure the area of the copper contacts on the 2 LED strips are the same (not a bigger area of copper contacts on one LED strip, and a smaller area on the other LED strip). If the area of the copper contacts on the LED strip is too small, the 4 pins in the connectors can not totally penetrate the 4 copper contacts, and there will be poor electrical conductivity. As a result, you may get 2 different colors or even get no colors at all.

Terrible product. Extremely difficult to open - took me and two others attempting to finally get one to open on both sides. Ripped 2 nails in the process, and I can't even get the others in the pack to open at all. If you somehow manage to get both sides open, the LED strips are easy to connect and secure. The one I was able to test worked for about 8 hours before one of the channels stopped connecting. I'd love to try to fix it but I can't get the connector to open again...Would absolutely not recommend this product.

So they work great but figuring them out was tough. OPEN: it was really tough to open them but i figured out the key to it is trying to lift up the corner, now i did use my teeth but ya know i did what i had to CONNECTING: Make sure not to stick down the ends of the lights before connecting, it makes it much harder Check the opening flap of the connector (there will be a - and +) Make sure you have 2 copper ends (they both should have 4 copper half ovals) Each of those copper half ovals are labeled; look for the one with + next to it Line up the positive symbols on the connector and lights with the copper and prongs facing each other When closing make sure to keep each of the copper pieces lined up with its correct prong Repeat for the next strand of lights I had the lights on to make sure everything worked correctly, it took some adjusting but it worked. I hope this helps, the connectors work well they are just hard to install

I chose to use waterproof RGB5050LED strip,because I feel the light of waterproof RGB LED strip is much softer than that of non-waterproof RGB LED strip.I cut off the my waterproof RGB5050LED strip to meet my demands in use.And,these connectors are a perfect solution for my project.Note:When you cut off your LED strip into2LED strips,you should cut very carefully along the cutting line,to make sure the area of the copper contacts on both sides of the LED strips are equal.If the area of the copper contacts on the LED strip is too small,the4pins in the connectors cannot totally penetrate the4copper contacts on the LED strip,and as a result,there will be poor electrical conductivity,and you may get2different colors or even get no colors at all.So,you need to take care when cutting off your LED strips.Also,these connectors can only work for WATERPROOF RGB5050LED strips that is 10mm in width.Not for other types of LED strips.

Ok, so I see a lot of people saying they don’t work, they do but it’s very hard to figure out how. I was trying to get the things to connect for 2+ hours, made my finger nails bleed trying to open the clasps, cut off and retried so many times, then I realized that the sticky adhesive on the back blocks the current, so you have to have the clasps facing the wall when you attach them, stupid design, I know, but that’s what works

I have cut off my waterproof RGB 5050 LED light strip into pieces in the previous use. My wife suggests that we use up the rest pieces to avoid waste. So, we installed the rest pieces of the LED strips on the backside of our door. These connectors work so well on the rest pieces of our waterproof RGB 5050 LED light strip. I recommend these connectors. Before buying, please note that these connectors are only suitable for waterproof RGB 5050 LED strips. They are not suitable for non-waterproof RGB 5050 LED strips, nor are they suitable for RGB 3528 LED strips.

Not sure if it was just my LCD light strip but the penetrating teeth had a hard time getting through the strip and thus preventing connection by all the colors. Little frustrating, but once they finally did connect they work great.
