Super Accurate, Super Easy — A Must-Have Tuner
The Snark ST-8 Super Tight Clip-On Tuner has quickly become one of my favorite gear accessories. It’s incredibly easy to use — clip it on, power it up, and you’re tuning in seconds. The display is bright and very easy to read, even in low light or on a dim stage. It locks onto the note quickly and feels accurate and stable, without jumping around like some cheaper tuners I’ve tried. Tuning is fast and frustration-free. The “Super Tight” clip lives up to its name. It grips securely to the headstock without feeling flimsy, and it stays put while you’re adjusting strings. The build quality feels solid but still lightweight enough that it doesn’t feel bulky on the instrument. For the price, performance, and convenience, this is an easy 5 stars. Whether you’re practicing at home, recording, or playing live, this tuner just works. Highly recommend!

My 2nd Snark Tuner - Very happy with both!! Great stocking stuffer/gift idea for anyone who plays a string instrument
Works great. Tunes quickly and accurately. Very easy to read screen. Works on acoustic and electric guitars - note: electric guitars do NOT need to be plugged in to tune. This works by feeling the vibration in the head stock. I have a built-in tuner in my Vox VT20+ Amp (one of several, but my favorite for practicing, since it has great tones at low volumes, and I don't need my pedals), but the Snark tuners are WAY BETTER than the ones built into my emulator amps. Unlike cheap guitar tuners, you can tune your guitar or stringed instrument to any key, like Eb or D. I think you can do non-standard Hz tunings, also, but I don't do that - not on purpose, at least. This is my second Snark. I also have the SN-5, which also works great. I gave that one to my kids and got another for myself. This one has the built-in metronome, which is a nice touch (I should use it more often!). For people who claim the device breaks easily, I think they much be way to rough on it. I twist mine all around, gently, depending on which guitar I'm tuning, and never have a problem. One warning: be sure to shut it off when not tuning. These things don't seem to power-off, at least not quickly enough for my tastes. I left my other one over night several months ago, and it still works fine, but you don't want to waste the battery. Also, be sure to pull out the plastic strip to begin using it.

practical and useful
In the 70's you found someone whose guitar was in tune or who owned an in tune piano and tuned your guitar to that by ear so i was very skeptical at first. I have made my piece with that and have learned to truly appreciate how much easier it is to get that first low E string in tune. It is still best to tune the others to that now in tune E string so as to develop one's ear. This is a practical, useful tool.

Quick and easy, been using Snark for years
Lost my old battery powered Snark, decided to get this rechargeable. I don't feel the battery replacement on the old model was as much a pain as some people make out, I guess time will tell if this model's presumably non-replaceable rechargeable lasts for many years.

Great tuner!
My very first electronic tuner set me back about $200 - that was twenty plus years ago! I discovered Snark about ten years ago while watching "Larry's Country Diner" on RFD-TV. Jimmy Capps accompanied every musical guest on that show. Additionally, the late Mr. Capps was a studio musician, producer, and long-time member of the Grand Ole Opry Stage Band. Somebody asked him about the thing clipped on his guitar and he replied that it was a Snark tuner. Someone questioned why it was called a Snark and Jimmy quipped, "You'd have to ask Mr. Snark about that." Nevertheless, considering Jimmy Capps' reputation as a guitarist, I was intrigued but figured it was going to be out of my price range. Did a little poking around on Amazon the next day and was delighted to find they sold then for about twelve bucks! I couldn't believe it! I ordered several because I have multiple guitars; one for every case. Once I had them, I realized they would work for any stringed instrument, so I purchased some more to go with my banjo, mandolin, and dobro. I even discovered I could duct tape a tongue depressor to the bottom of my autoharp, clip the Snark onto it, and easily tune all those strings! Amazingly versatile! The only complaint I have with them is that if one ever slips from your fingers and hits the floor, you may as well buy a replacement. The design that makes the head of it swivel so conveniently is its weak point. Very minor problem when you consider the low price and overall high quality. This most recent Snark tuner was purchased as a replacement for that very reason. Otherwise, pop a new button cell battery in it every once in a while and I truly believe they'd last forever. I do not plan to ever own another brand of tuner.

The best of the best - 5 stars!
I've purchased at least 8 different types of clip-on tuners and this one is easily the best so far. I use it mainly to tune my basses (which can be a challenge for some tuners). Here are the simple reasons why I like this one over some of the others: - The clip is the perfect tightness. I've tried some that are not tight enough so it doesn't pickup the vibration very well. And I've also had one that was too tight, to the point where it was difficult to clip it on with one hand (the Fender clip-on was way too tight). - It starts up and shuts down fast. I know this seems like a simple feature, but I've tried others, and some take a while to boot. Also, others I've tried require holding a button down for a few seconds to turn off. Both are quite annoying. With this one, you just tap the button and it's on in under a second, tap the button again and it instantly shuts off. So simple, but other manufactures don't seem to get it. - The accuracy is impeccable! And trust me when I say this, because I use it to tune bass guitars! Others that I've tried struggle on the lower strings like the E and A. I also have a 5 string with a low B and most can't even do it. This one has no problem with all strings. It struggles just a little bit with the B, but nowhere near the problems I've had with others. - You can position the face in any angle, so it doesn't matter where you clip it! I've used other tuners where they limit the angle of where you can position the face. This can be really annoying! I have no idea why other manufacturers don't simply give you all angles. If you look at the design of this one, it's quite simple the way they've designed it. Other manufacturers should take heed. - The display is nice and bright. My Jazz bass has a really long neck, and with some of the other tuners, it was hard to see the display when clipped to the furthest point of the headstock (my eyesight isn't that great, and if on stage, the bright lights can also make it difficult to read). This display is large, bright, and easy to read. This is easily a 5 star product Update: I don't know why the product page says it's the rechargeable one, but the one I reviewed here is the non rechargeable where you just replace the battery. Amazon needs to fix this error. Anyhow, my review is for the "SNARK ST-8 Chromatic All Instrument Tuner"

Love these things! I own 4, so far.
Great product. Arrives quickly in good packaging. Love the size and I can leave on the headstock of the guitar for quick tune-ups during performances. I even use these things on my headless guitars. Just small enough to still put at the top and works for tuning. Love the size and that it illuminates to see in darker settings. Love the fact that I can also tune different instruments or change the frequency I want to play in. Great product. Just have to be careful to protect the skinny neck it sits on.

veloce bello comodo e preciso

Works great for what I needed! Something simple.
Just as I had expected. Fits my violin perfectly and is easy to read while playing. Sometimes a little slow in picking up the note but for the most part it's pretty accurate. As battery declines so does its accuracy, still quite useful and what I needed as a beginner player.

It's good, but I didn't get the promised metronome feature
It does what a tuner does, what else can you ask for? For me that's the metronome I was supposed to get on the tuner as a feature, but it's fine.
