They were recommended to me by my PT as part of the corrective regiment for my jumpers knee. They definitely are more rigid with the carbon insert. They will prevent your arches from flattening when your feet are fatigued and compromise the arch. They provide solid support. **Q: Do the carbon ones provide enough support to help with pronation issues?** A: The carbon provides excellent support for FLAT footed individuals. If you have a normal or high arch you will not have enough support. I have very flat feet and these provide the perfect amount of support for me.
