Nearpow Multi-function Digital Programmable Timer (Single Outlet)

We are still working through what we lovingly refer to as the endless bathroom reno. Included in that is the instillation of a heated towel rack. Nothing says lovin' like waking up and taking a shower and knowing you are going to be embraced with a warm dry towel. The only challenge is that if you turn on the towel rack when you step into the shower it doesn't heat up the towels enough by the end of the shower. So, how to turn on the towel rack early enough so that things are ready? This timer. The towel rack has a physical switch which means this timer works perfectly. Setting the time on/off was easy enough - it comes with clear directions (which are printed large enough for me to read without needing to take a picture and zoom in) and allows for intervals, multiple timer on/off during the day, down to the minute settings, and since it runs the clock off of a battery you don't need to worry about losing the settings if the power goes out. It's 120 volt, three prong, 15 amp, and max power 1800 W.

I bought this timer to reset my router 2 times a day. I am pleased with the operation. I found a good printable manual for the timer. Tmobile is still in the process of merging in Uscellular and sometimes things don't work as they should.

This is a great, great product. I have an outdoor pump that needs to run one minute every 45 minutes. This timer enables this functionality, and the instructions are clear (I had it working in five minutes). All of this for about $16? Fantastic.

Works well, easy to setup

This timer was purchased for operating my greenhouse misters. This thing programs eadily and works like a charm still. Highly recommend. Shipping was quick.

I have used my Nearpow T-319 timer to cycle continuously a recirculating-hot-water pump. The timer is set for a ten-percent duty cycle: 20 seconds on, 180 seconds off. It has worked flawlessly for six years. It has retained its settings through power outages. It can be programmed in hand and then placed into service. I am happy with it. The unit's instructions can be a tad challenging at first, especially when setting infinite-repeat intervals in seconds/minutes rather than minutes/hours. For seconds/minutes intervals the user manual says Press and hold the Timing Circulate button for 3 seconds and the top set of numbers will flash. The three-second hold is the key; otherwise the timer defaults to minutes/hours intervals. The programming instructions can found online. Search for Nearpow T-319 timer manual.

​Functionality:​ Why did you pick this product vs others?: This timer has many modes, timed on, timed off, cycle, countdown, etc. It is rated for 1800 watts and 15 amps. However in use with an air conditioner drawing 8 amps and about 800 watts the receptacle connecting the timer to the conditioner became very warm. Upon examination the plastic in which the receptacle was embedded had partially melted and deformed while the conditioner plug remained unaffected. The receptacle apparently needs a higher current rating.

I needed a timer to cycle an air exchanger periodically in my workshop - and was expecting to pay a lot more than this. When it arrived, I was surprised to find that the screen was active straight out of the box without even plugging it in. It obviously has a battery included, which makes the programming simpler than it would have been (especially since my air exchanger is plugged into a hard-to-reach outlet). The programming isn't very intuitive (meaning it would have taken me a while to figure it out on my own); but, the instructions were very easy to follow. I programmed it to cycle on once every 30 minutes and then plugged it into the outlet and plugged my air exchanger into this timer. The time worked perfectly! Over the next couple of days, I spent some more time playing with the times until I finally settled on an interval that appears to be optimal. As a precaution, I folded the instructions up and am storing them behind the top half of the timer (wedged against the wall) so I won't have to remember how to use this when I inevitably decide reprogram it again 2 years from now. In my case, I ended up having the timer run for 1 minute, then turn off for 14 minutes before running again. This is set to cycle indefinitely and has worked perfectly over the last week. If you have any kind of device you want to run on a timed outlet, I would highly recommend this little timer!
