Amazing & effortless sound
Bought 3 of these as LCR in home theater set up. Also tried 2 of these in stereo mode with Wiim Pro. Dont think about these as studio monitors- they are pretty big and loud to power my dedicated HT room. Vocals are crisp and clear and the 8 inch woofer really kicks hard. Its almost a concert like sound yet retains all details like studio monitors. Pros: - Effortless sound- huge power reserve - Clear highs - 8 inch woofer is a game changer- no need for subwoofer - both speakers in the pair are active - in most active speakers one speaker is passive - relatively light weight Cons: - connections- only TRS and XLR so need RCA to XLR cables which are not easy to find - large cabinet- 8 inch woofers so take care in placement - no remote - volume knob behind speakers Highly recommended !

They have a slight hiss on tweeeter even with balanced XLR connection
Pros :- (1) sound is accurate for monitering with good bass reproduction. (2) design looks sturdy and modern (3) worth upgrading from 5 inch moniters (Krk Rokit5 gen 3) to this. (4) Very much suitable for mixing and mastering application . (5) value for money and better pricing then competitors (yamaha krk presonous ) Cons:- (1) The glossy plastic material doesn't look cheap at all but cathes fingerprints very easily and cleaning it with normal cloth can lead to cause scratches easily (micro fibre cloth used for cleaning eye glasses recommended) (2) Not a con but the moniters are back ported nor front ported like krk or Kali moniters so it is advised to keep a distance from wall so required good amount of space (3) slightly more hiss than my krk and less than presonous and same as yamaha but very negligble you won't hear it unless you stick ear to tweeter at volume cranked up on interface

I am very happy to have bought this, it seems I have recovered my money
I can't say much about it, but if you buy this, you will not need any other sound system. Its sound quality is very good, whether it is high frequency, mid or low frequency.

Tottal waste of money don’t buy this speaker from amazon please buy any offline shop
I just tried these studio monitors. But one speaker is neither getting power nor turning on and the speaker which is not turning on has dents and scratches on it, maybe that is why it is not getting power. And the sound quality of the other speaker which was on is very poor, just like any useless old 3 inch speaker. I did not expect this from you. Please return these speakers and refund my money. And secondly, tell the seller who sent me these speakers to check the product before sending it back, these are absolutely worn out speakers.

Good Speakers
Using for TV unit, bass is punchi. Audio is clear & crispy. Volume level set 60 % from back on speakers to cancel hiss noise.

Great Value Monitors
For the money, I can't imagine anyone getting more at this price range. The speakers have a balanced sound and just sound great. I don't have any doubts in my mixes when I work on these. I've seen confusion in reviews as to whether a subwoofer is needed or not. It's my assumption based on what was stated they might be first time purchasers. The bass is really punchy and clear with detail, but you'll need to supplement the low end with bass you feel with -- a subwoofer. You can still hear sounds down to the 40-50hz range, but to feel the sub-bass in your chest you'll need a subwoofer to even out the experience. If I crank up the volume on the JBL's the bass can get close to my subwoofer. However, accuracy is important here, not volume. I'm on a budget so I was able to cheat and use a Y cable to route the the L/R audio from my Focusrite to my old subwoofer. In the future I'll be looking to upgrade and drop the splitter. Reviewers mentioned a hissing sound in the speakers, in my experience I never noticed it over the slight hum of my computer unless I position my ears less than 12" from the speaker. The speakers are without a doubt sufficiently loud. I had to set the volume at 12 o'clock on the speakers, and the same position with my Focusrite. The sound filled the room entirely. One thing to keep in mind these are rear-port firing speakers. So you'll need to treat your room properly for these to work at their best for you. If that's not an immediate option you can use the Trim feature to overcome the bass bleeding through. This seems to be the issue I saw with inexperienced reviewers who were critical of clarity. One aspect that seems to get overlooked is stereo imaging. When I listen to Micket Hart - Udu Chant you can visualize the entire sound stage. The song also makes great use of panning effects which these JBL's do a good job projecting. You can almost follow the sound heard in the intro with your eyes. If you're either a first time studio monitor buyer, or looking to own some in this price range you wont be disappointed in how these perform. Excellent speakers! I'd recommend all future purchasers and current owners to check out the AudioCheck website. They have really great ways to test your speakers!

Sounds great.
Nice sound, decent bass. Still bought a subwoofer to supplement. Using the setup for my digital piano, and as studio monitors. sounds amazing. Also use it as a sound system for my PC. Great all around, no complaints. Only thing Im not really fond of is the plastic covering. Its the type of plastic that gets micro scratches incredibly easily, even when wiping with a simple soft cloth. You need to use a very fine micro fiber cloth to clean. And they are dust magnets, due to the static cling. However, not a major issue overall. Just not how I would have designed these things.

Not awesome but nice sound. In teh 1980's JBL dominated the "California Sound" AFAIR.
i had to flip the high-end switch to -10 db to get them listenable as near field monitors. if it was possible i would rather NOT have the bi-amps inside because i miss out on the vintage sound from a Nacamichi amp. Note that These must go through a mixing board of some sort in order to modify the volume without doing it manually every time on each speaker. I suppose this makes a very technically flat frequency response at many volume levels. I love JBL but these are not impressive like my 4312 monitors were in the 1980s, and its not just nostalgia.
