Great Bodyboard for Beginner
I started bodyboarding in San Diego and was using a cheaper CBC 39 inch bodyboard. I looked online for review and the Thurso 42" board was recommended as a great bodyboard for beginner. After using the 2 boards side-by-side, the Thurso bodyboard is definitely superior in these ways:- It gives a more stable ride- It is constructed with a better foam material that feels softer on my chest- The coiled strap is better than the cheaper strap on the CBC board. It does not entrap my arm during any of my manuveurs.

Nice body board package
I've had this board out twice now in 2-4 ft waves off the east coast of Florida near St Augustine and I've caught a bunch of fun waves. I'm 5'9", 173 pounds (65 years old) and this board works great for me. The board, leash and bag all appear to be good quality. I'm very happy with my purchase, so far.

Cheap Crap - At least the bag is okay
This board lasted two sessions in small, 1-2 foot waves before having two holes ripped open in top foam.I've taken this board out two times in the LA shorebreak (we're taking small, 1-2 foot waves). The first time, a couple of small punctures appeared in the top foam - not a huge deal but kind of annoying. The second time, again in 1-2 foot waves, the support beams inside the board ripped out of the top of it and exposed two huge holes in the board. See the image - there's no way the board won't be waterlogged after this.Complete piece of garbage. Not a single other bodyboard out in the water yesterday when this broke had problems with those small waves. I can't stress how not strong these waves were - there was a four year old kid boogie boarding by himself in this surf.Do yourself a favor, skip this knock of brand and go to your local shop and buy a good board there that will last you longer than a few sessions.

Great board
Pros:Very floaty and fastNice carry bag with shoulder straps makes it easy to lug to the beachCons:Wrist strap is too big for my wrist and too small for my bicep so I will have to purchase another strapZipper external pouch of bag is not very goodDeck is a bit soft. The strap left an imprint on board from being pressed against car seat so be carefulNote: the surface of board is very slick. I had to bum some wax off a surfing instructor. Kudos to endlesssummersurf on Hatteras island

Just bought and received my fifth board.
These are sturdy...nice-looking boards. Our old boards were $50.00 thirty years ago. Our new Thurso Surf boards are just as nice and are worth what I paid. We don't take the bags to the beach, but they are nice.
