Can you make cold brew coffee in this?

I only brew coffee in this. I wrap a rubber band around the top of a pill bottle cap and push it down over the coffee grounds so they don't float up toward the lid. Works fine.

Heat 1 quart of water (in a kettle) to the appropriate temperature for the kind of tea that you are using. 1. Fill the infuser basket with the correct oamount of tea (1 Takea bag or 8 tea bags or 8 teaspoons of loose tea). 2. Twist the infuser into the lid. 3. Fill the container half way with the hot water. 4. Lower the tea infuser into the container & seal for the recommended time. Remove the infuser & disconnect from the lid. Put sweetner of your choice in at this time. 5. Screw the lid back on. 6. Shake for 30 seconds (the ice will melt & the brew will cool. Serve over ice. There is a cold brew method in which you fill the container to the top with cold water, screw the infuser into the container & place in your refrigerator for 6-12 hours ( the longer you leave the infuser in, the stronger the brew & more caffene is extracted). - There is a website, customerservice@takeya.com & a phone # - 714-374-9900 x314. The description says the dimension are 12.2 x 6.1 x 4.1. Does the 6.1 measure from spout to handle and 4.1 side to side?

The 6.1 includes the handle. Be aware this is very tall and I found I gad to put it on a special shelf in the fridge. Most of the time I lay it on its side on the shelf.

Can you take the infuser portion off, or is it attached to the lid?

The infuser is two piece. It does detach (unscrews) from the lid. Makes is very easy to load tea and afterwards to clean the infuser.
