Simple, Strong, Get the job done
I just recently moved into a new house (actually 40 years old, but new for me) and needed to re-organize the garage, as the wife did the rest of the house! Their was already some old (looked like particle board) pegboard on the walls, but some of the holes had widened or snapped off. I have lots of heavy tools/garden equipment and did not trust the original pegboard to stand the test of time. I purchased 6 units (3 kits) of this Galvanized Steel Pegboard and could not be more happy with the results. If your garage studs are exposed like mine, then installation is easy as can be. One board at a time, simply line it up where you want it, leave 1/2 the stud for the next board, mark the holes, drill the pilots, put the board back, drill the provided screws (large & heavy duty) and move onto the next one. I have 4 boards lined next to each other on one wall and 2 on wall to the right, making a 64"x32" space, which was perfect for the workbench that I have under it. The workbench that I ended up going with was the "2x4basics 90164 Workbench and Shelving Storage System" and it all worked great together! I have 5 power drills, a circ saw, sawzall and three baskets with screws/nuts/bolts, etc on just one board. I bought the "Stanley Tools 819841 51 Piece Pegboard Hook Assortment", which has been OK. If any of you find great pegboard accessory hook sets, please comment on this post and let me know where to get them. The "Lehigh Group/Crawford #SHDH Super Power Drill Holder - 10 LBS" has been great for power drills. This pegboard looks great, is extremely sturdy, easy to install. The only difficult part in installation was if you wanted to use both pegboards with one accessory hanger. It says to use a penny and it works, but only OK. I just sort of eye-balled it and use each board separately.

Sturdy and offers versatility
NOTE: Packaging and/or shipping could be better, but it wasn't worth returning for a slightly out of square soft bend in the sheet metal that I could readily fix. It came with mounting hardware options, which I did not use for my install but seemed like very good quality. I also feel like washers might be a smart thing to use (for extra security) as there is some wiggle room for lateral adjustments, but large-headed screws will suffice. There's a limit to the types and sizes of hardware that can be used because there is a very narrow slot to access the frame area to tighten down the fastener. I had planned on installing with lag bolts, but my socket size was not going to fit into the access slot. This design is meant to be used with a narrow drill /driver. These are very nice looking and a sturdy, heavy sheet metal gauge. Not too matte, not too glossy and very durable paint finish. I love the options of using standard peg hook accessories or slot wall style organizers as my storage needs evolve. I will never consider using MDF or standard pegboard sheet products ever again. Will this eventually rust if exposed to humidity out in a shed? Who cares, I'll repaint it. I expect this to last for years and years without warping, deteriorating or having the holes stripped out over time and due to weight of stored items. This was actually less expensive to buy and install compared to materially inferior products IMveryHO. No extra framing or spacers required. This was also incredibly easy to install by myself with minimal tools. When I need more I will buy this product again.

A very good product that becomes great when you add the optional o-rings
I decided to give this product a try when we moved to our new house after using the traditional pegboard for years. I've now been using if for about 20 months and it's held up very well. I love the many hook and color options to really make it your own. Two things I'd go back an tell my past self if I could: 1. Just bite the bullet and replace all your crappy 1/4" traditional pegboard hooks with the ones from Wall Control from day one-- you're going to eventually want to replace them all anyway. 2. Get the "optional" o-rings! While the slotted hooks are generally a lot better at the hook not coming away with the tool when you grab it than the traditional kind, the ones that attach via just one slot sometimes still do. You can adjust their tension by bending the tabs per the instructions but I'm never a fan of trying to bend painted metal. The o-rings eliminate this problem entirely and make all hooks stay on rock solid. Ironically, at the time of this writing the ones from Wall Control are the one product of theirs NOT on Amazon but if you search for "O-Rings, Nitrile Rubber O-Rings 7/16" ID, 5/8" OD, 3/32" Width" you can get a 100 pack for $6 that will do the trick just fine. Kicking myself I didn't add these 20 months ago! I'd go so far as to say Wall Control should just include these with every hook set you buy, but I guess maybe they didn't want to muddy the waters as these fall outside their warranty as they can wear out over time.

Great Solution Only if Installed Properly, Which Means Boards on the Walls First
I have these all over the walls of my home office - I am a Computer consultant, and tend to have every cable and adapter under the sun in triplicate at least, so these pegboards are amazingly versatile for hanging cables, storing hard drives, and even mounting a USB hubs and surge protectors using black cable ties to charge tablets, phones, and power hard drives stacked on the shelves. A few things to keep in mind when using these: -Standard Pegboard hooks and baskets work just fine in the round holes, you don't necessarily need to purchase the more expensive Wall Control kits - you can save a LOT of $$ if you just want to use hooks or baskets -However, the Wall Control Shelves are extremely sturdy and can hold lots of weight, only if -You use the slat-mounted Wall Control Shelves and hooks and.... -The Pegboards are properly mounted Which brings me to my main gripe with these - unless your studs are perfectly placed, you'll have to mount these to your walls using either drywall or masonry anchors and that's a bad idea - because any advantage in weight they can support will be negated by anchoring them in something other than a stud - they will pull off if you want to hang heavy tools. So my solution was to purchase some boards, cut them to site, spray paint them black, then attach them to the studs then screw the pegboard into those. I also put some black plastic sheeting behind the boards so the white walls woudn't show through the slats in the Pegboard and it looks perfect. One Pegboard is holding about 80 pounds of stuff with ease. It took me a few weeks to mount all of these - I was careful to center and level them so they didn't look bad. It's a great way to organize your things yet keep them in sight. Out of sight, out of mind they say.

My new display panels for street fair booth
I had been looking for a way to get more square footage of display area out of a typical craft show or street fair 10' x 10' booth. There were lots of options available online for making various displays using wooden pegboard, but from past projects I know that it is heavy and fairly brittle -- the corners break off easily. When I saw this, I thought I'd give it a try and ordered three sets of these panels. I had originally planned to hinge the pieces with piano hinge to stand them up on the tables in a sort of zig zag method, but I realized that for temporary displays I could just use zipties instead in the pre-drilled holes, and then cut the ties at the end of the day when disassembling and packing up. Much easier and cheaper, and allows more versatility in setting up different configurations. The one downside of these is that the sheet metal is thin, and standard pegboard hooks which are made for thicker wooden pegboard don't "lock in" against the metal. For a permanent installation, it would be frustrating as the pegs fall out with the slightest touch. For my temporary purpose, I found a piece of Gorilla tape on the backside of the panels over the hook area kept them solidly in place so my merchandise didn't get knocked to the ground if the pegs came loose. At the end of the day, pull off the tape and remove the hooks for transport and storage until the next show. This looks stylish and professional in my booth, is easy to store, and allows for a variety of display options. Good stuff!

it is not 16 inch in W
I recently purchased the Metal Pegboard to organize my tools and streamline my workspace. The quality of the pegboard is excellent – it's sturdy, durable, and provides a secure place to hang a variety of tools. The sleek metal design also adds a modern touch to my garage. However, I encountered a significant issue during installation. The pegboard is not 16 inches in width, which made it challenging to fit properly in my space. Most studs in walls are spaced 16 inches apart, so having a pegboard of this width would have made the installation process much simpler and more straightforward. Despite its impressive build and functionality, the current size limitation hampers its convenience. I really wish they offered a 16-inch version to align with standard stud spacing. This small change would make it much easier to install at home and would greatly enhance its usability. Overall, the Metal Pegboard is a high-quality product that excels in organization and durability. If a 16-inch version were available, it would be the perfect solution for any workspace.

Versatile, durable and easy to install.
Recently reorganized my workshop area and had some wall space. I was planning on hanging some more traditional peg board when I came across this. I liked that it was metal and wouldn't really require any framing/spacing from the wall, so I decided to give it a try. I got the "galvanized" silver color and it looks great. The panels arrived in great condition (including mounting hardware and a few pages of mounting instructions); no discoloration or imperfections in the stamping/cutting. Mounting the panels was fairly easy. I didn't want them directly next to each other and my studs are 24" apart so, per their instructions, I mounted one side into the stud and the other with the included drywall pegs. The screws are substantial; they didn't cheap out with the hardware like a lot of other companies do. I placed a few 2x4s on edge on top of my work table and rested the panels on top and used my spirit level to make sure the panels were straight. With one hand holding the panel against the wall, I marked all 6 holes. Drilled pilot holes into the studs on one side and mounted the drywall anchors on the other. Then I screwed in the top two screws, removed the 2x4s and finished the other 4. Each panel took about 8 minutes to mount. I already had some traditional peg board on my workbench, so I started by using some extra standard hooks (2" and 4" long) I originally got from a dollar store. They fit into the holes just fine. The metal panel is very thin so the hooks tend to "hang" a little lower so the stems sit at a downward angle. I bent a few of the longer hooks upward a bit to keep the tools from sliding. I was expecting that, so it wasn't a big deal. I also purchased a large collection of various peg hooks from amazon. These are single peg hooks so they were a bit more frustrating to add. The fact that they were "looser" in the holes and were just in a single peg meant there was a lot of movement and the hooks would easily pop out when I removed a tool. I didn't want to use the clip locks that came with them (since they take up two adjacent peg holes) so I ended up wrapping some thin wire I had around the vertical slots (for their proprietary shelf/hook accessories) to hold the peg hooks in place. It works well and is WAY cheaper than buying the "official" expensive Wall Control accessories or the thicker, more expensive peg hooks. I have quite a few tools hanging on the panels so far and they still look and feel rock solid. They hold the weight in the peg holes without warping or bending and the panels are held fast to the wall. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and I plan on getting a few more of these panels later on to fill in some more empty space. PRO: -much more durable than traditional peg board -compatible with standard peg accessories -very easy to mount -looks good CON: -thinner than traditional peg board so traditional accessories are looser -proprietary Wall Control accessories are ridiculously expensive
