Great Listening Device!
I ordered & received two Unisar DH900 devices on 6/24/15 (one for bedroom, one for living room). I have used TV ears for two years or so until eventually all the headsets broke (3 units). Having some hearing difficulty at low TV volume I needed a replacement device. I tried another โunder the chinโ brand but their IR reception was bad. I then tried a set of over the ear wireless headphones that again used IR technology and the reception was still not good plus they were not comfortable, for me anyway. They made me realize I do not want over the ear headphones. I then ordered the Unisar DH900 mainly because they use RF technology. I installed last night, charged the batteries for three hours and they worked very well. I have one installed in living room connected to the audio out L&R connections on my DirecTV DVR. I have the other installed in the bedroom connected to the audio out L&R connections on my TV. The RF reception for both is very good. I do not have to be concerned with needing a direct line of sight between headphones and transmitter. The left & right arms that hold the ear pieces have flexible joints that relieve stress on these arms. This is where all of my TV ears failed. Also, the flexible joints make for a looser more comfortable fit for me. The DH900 appears very well constructed overall. The sound is very good imo, volume control works well and the left-right balance adjustment works well for me as hearing in my right ear is a little worse than left. I do not need to use these in day time viewing as I can have TV volume up enough to hear without a problem. I need this at night when my wife is sleeping and for the times I simply want to lay in bed and watch TV while she is in the living room watching TV. BTW, I am 67 years old.

So needed for hard of hearing parent
We gave my dad TV ears some years ago and over time he lost, or broke them. When he came to live with us we needed those ears. After reading the Amazon reviews of the Unisar product we chose this one because he could use the button on the front to hear conversation, and because these are not "line of sight" earphones, they're wireless like a Bluetooth. Well, they're amazing. He is extremely hard of hearing, we have to shout even when the hearing aids are in his ears, but he hears TV again with these. He takes out his hearing aids when he uses these, and they work just fine for him. He is so happy to hear all the news again, and be able to watch his favorite movies and hear all the dialog. We are thrilled to be able to hold conversations, work, and live without losing our hearing to an overloud TV volume. Even if you turn the in-room volume down to mute, the user of this product can turn their volume up and still have the same experience of hearing the sound. It also comes with a microphone to set near a TV or radio if it doesn't have a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Using that will amplify the sound from the device but will also pick up room noise. Most TV's and radios nowadays have the headphone jack but if you don't, there is an option in the box. A few things to be aware of, this is a wireless device like a Bluetooth. Sometimes when you start the unit, you have to turn both parts of the unit off and reset it because the units need to sync up to each other, just like with a Bluetooth headpiece. The batteries are rechargeable and there is a built in charger, you get two for up to 4 hours of use, but each is only good for 2 hours, so be aware of the use time. Finally, you may need longer 3.5 mm audio wires, they come with the needed plugs at both ends, to make the connection between the unit and TV set if your set hangs on the wall over a fireplace, or extra connection wires if you want to easily move it to different TVs on different levels of your house. if your main set is up high on the wall, or your plug is in on an unwieldy part of a big TV and hard to reach, you probably will need to get some longer wires. They are cheap and easy to find.

Unacceptable.
I thought it would be a great replacement of the catastrophically poor durability of TV Ears. The concept of the Unisar is great, the reviews were great, so I ordered one. I thought the unit I received was defective, so I filed for return, and ordered a new one. The new one is the same. The good: the sound quality is acceptable. The transmission from transmitter to receiver is acceptable. You can turn your body around, and still get OK reception. BUT: 1) There is objectionable hiss. You can hear it with the TV off (or on). It's greatest with the volume down at zero. It diminishes between minimum and maximum volume, than it goes up again after that. If the TV's line output is fixed, you're out of luck; you cannot adjust the input into the transmitter so the headset volume is at that middle - where the hiss is perfectly acceptable. I know of no wireless device that produce so much hiss - and this is a defect. The fact that no other reviewer mentions hiss it may reflect a population of hard of hearing people who cannot hear the hiss and don't complain... 2) There is a split second delay - because it's digital. If you happen to have a sound bar connected digitally to the TV, you're fine - they are both delayed equally, so there is no sense of echo. If you are listening through the TV's speakers, there is an annoying echo. 3) TV ears sat just fine on the ears. If you're in bed lying down, TV Ears is totally unobtrusive. This one cannot be worn if you're erect. the contraption is just too heavy, and after 15 minutes you're likely to start changing the position to find a better one - then, after 1/2 hour, you're tempted to take a little time off. But I'm sure I could have gotten used to problem (2) and (3) if it weren't for the loud hiss at low volume. I'm returning both devices.

STUNNINGLY IMPRESSIVE!!!
Goodbye "TV Ears," hello Unisar. Was a loyal "TV Ears" customer for 15 years, before their product and customer service both went into the toilet, but never experienced anything like this headphone for clarity, function, and ease of use. Product deserves 5 stars, but held one back because of lack of warranty or customer service, meaning after 30 days you're on your own. But my original TV Ears lasted nearly 10 years, so I'm hoping this will last awhile. If it does, I'll get a second set. I cannot exaggerate how impressed I am. Meanwhile, I wish someone would tell me how to install the external speaker, although it isn't essential.

I am pleased with the sound quality and the RF range
I purchased this item July 15, 2015. It lasted to October 19th. The right side ear phone arm broke at the hinged joint. It is just a plastic hinge joint and suffered plastic fatigue. This is the same problem I had with TV Ears and was so exasperating that I looked for an alternative. I am pleased with the sound quality and the RF range.. Perfect for my hearing loss. I emailed the manufacturer and have no response. I will phone them today to find out if they will honor the one year warranty. This was not due to abuse, but they cannot stand up to daily wear and did not last as long as TV Ears. I have ordered a different brand of a similar design. A more sturdy plastic or a metal hinge would solve the problem of strength of material used. I am not an engineer, but know about metal fatigue and the similar phenomenon in certain plastics and other metals. This is an excellent design, but the material of the hinges should be more sturdy. No problem with the electronics or the sound quality -- excellent, and easy to install. Pairing of the device with the transmitter is simple, but you must follow the procedure in the user manual exactly to begin the transmission. It dropped out unexpectedly twice but was easy to reestablish. I do not recommend it for anyone who cannot handle it extremely gently to avoid breakage. Not sturdy enough for normal usage. A more sturdy product may cost more, but is worth it. I have been using TV listening devices for many years and have long experience and a lifetime working with similar devices in my line of work with instrumentation.

Too big and too heavy for comfort
We tried this as an alternative to TV Ears, because the TV Ears sets kept breaking. This was reviewed as being more durable. The sound quality seemed to be OK, but the device is much heavier than the TV ears, and therefore very uncomfortable to wear. The ear buds are also larger, which also adds to the discomfort. My husband tried them for about ten minutes and decided he couldn't wear them; he said "they hurt." So we sent them back.

light weight nice on and off as well as eazy toudh quiet ...
Would give this a 10 rating if the rating score went that high. Have a set of "Ears" that stop working when the dog passes in front of it. Have another set of german made which cost over $250. These outperform both. light weight nice on and off as well as eazy toudh quiet mode for listening to someone speak. Great added feature is a second batterry that fits in the charger and can be used to swap out if the one being used runs out of battery power. Great receoption from other rooms. Great soun . LOVE them. Wonderful price for a great listening device. Those hard of hearing, like me, or those looking to watch TV with bothering others should love this unit.

One major hiccup.
Tried TV ears. TV ears are NOT in stereo and require you to be in a direct path... so don't turn your head!...plus getting it to charge is tricky. Has to sit in the base exactly correct. Plus you had to purchase the second amplifier to connect to the original base if you wanted the sound to go pass a foot and a half. By time you are done, you're up to $250... and you are not done.. because you need to purchase replaceable ear buds often and they were way over priced. Next, tried the RCA wireless headphones... they are cheap (about $40) and work great with an RF signal (you can walk anywhere within reason and not lose the sound).. and they are in stereo. And if you have more than one setup, you have three channels to work with. Only problem is they are a bit bulky and made cheap and do fall apart. These, on the other hand, are really good. Lightweight... has permanent rubber ear buds that shouldn't fall apart and require replacement. The sound is superior (stereo or mono - your choice). It has a tone control. The only drawback is that they work independently. I have setup two TVs with them. There is no frequency channel selection. So the earphones will only work with the base that it came with. The two units above will work with any of it's transmitters (so two people could share the same transmitter). This one does not allow that... so two can not share the same transmitter. For me, this is an important feature and had to lower a 5-star rating to 3-stars. If this is not a feature you would be interested in, then I would highly recommend this unit.
