My doctor only applied one layer of casting material to keep my cast lightweight due to the location of my ankle break. Unfortunately I was having some overlap separation on the bottom of my foot and we were leaving for vacation the next day. I was able to get this fiberglass casting via same day delivery on desertcart. It saved me from having to make an emergency visit to my dr and I was able to enjoy my vacation without worrying about my cast. I did order 2 rolls because I was worried about some of the reviews saying it arrived already hardened. I did not have this problem with either roll. However you have to move fast because once it’s activated by air and water it will harden quickly. Also wear gloves!!! I started out not wearing them and regretted it immediately. It took me 3 hours to remove all the fiberglass glue from my hands! Lastly if you’re applying this overtop an existing cast it won’t stick directly to it, you have to overlap the new casting tightly. Keep in mind the more casting you put on the heavier your cast is going to get! Would I just wet this tape and apply it directly over the current cast?** A: Yes, just submerge the tape and wrap it around the old cast. I’ve found two to three layers work the best **Q: the directions say put it in water but when we did it harden up why?** A: I bought this thinking I was getting a soft cast, but same thing happened to me. This is a HARD cast. You put it in water and it hardens very quickly. I put it on my foot not knowing and then had a horrible time getting it off and couldn't walk in it. This is something a doctor should put on someone. **Q: How do you remove the cast?** A: We used this for our Christmas elf when our son broke his elbow this past year. It just popped off the stuffed animal. Sorry, I know this probably does not help. It does get hard and is a true cast. Try googling other removal methods.
