Sports Research® Ab Wheel Roller for Core Strength Training

Great ab roller and super easy to setup. I've seen others say the metal bar is "too long" so the handles do not slide all the way against the wheel. Guys, this isn't rocket science. You just need to push with force when installing the handle grips. It will get to the wheel. I've used this roller about 3-5 times a week for a month now and have not experienced the grips to slide off the metal bar. It has a smooth rolling motion with no play. The pad it comes with is not the thickest, but I look at this as a throw-in. It does the job for what it is and it has good grip so you won't slide around on a hard surface. If you want something with more padding, I would suggest getting one of those gardening knee pads at your local gardening center. Overall great purchase. Simple and effective. Your abs will be on fire.

This is the perfect ab roller. As usual on Amazon, I was scouring all the options for this daily-use item, painstakingly narrowing them down, cursing the fact that I was spending so much time investigating the minute differences and reviews of some daily item which, in previous decades, I would have just bought at Target and got what I got (it was a simpler time). And in that process, I almost got something far more expensive than this ab roller. But then I chose this, and it is perfection. It's well made, sturdy materials, weighty in the hand so you know it's not flimsy; but certainly not too heavy or anything. Rolls smoothly. Love that it has one wider wheel, as opposed to two wheels - there is no substitute for balancing all your body weight on one wheel. Overall perfect size. Comfortable, wide handles. Grippy tread on the wheel. Even the knee pad - when I saw it I thought it looked thin and small, but when I used it, it was just big enough for my knees (I'm 5'11" and 200lbs) and SO COMFORTABLE and stabilizing. So, overall this item far surpassed my expectations, which is so nice in a day when so many things are cheaply made junk. Hopefully this review will save you the trouble of doing all the research I did. Just buy this!

This product is great, easy to assembly, and rolls well. The only thing I would recommend the company looks at to improve, would be using denser foam for the hand grips, they are a little soft, so I'm not sure what the durability will be. The knee pad is good, but the foam could be denser. The weight and width of the wheel surface makes it very stable. I have stale flooring and it handles the rough surface very well. I would recommend this product, your abs will get a great workout from it.

I haven't tried other ab wheels, but this one is sturdy and feels like quality construction. It is a tough workout. Be very careful with these things. They offer a phenomenal workout for your abs, but also your lower back and to a lesser extent your lats. Be honest with yourself about how far you can extend without collapsing your lower back. If you don't hold proper tension you can hurt yourself. Not for people who haven't already been doing some core work. This device is step 2 or step 3 in your core strength training.

I bought this product during these times of social distancing and having to cancel my gym membership until covid is a thing of the past. Working from home and not getting out much leaves me getting lazy right now so I have been on the hunt for things to continue my workouts from home until I feel safe enough to go back into a gym setting. This product was easy to put together and simple enough to use. I can use this on almost any floor surface tried on carpet and tile so far. It can handle the pressure of my weight and me being a 288 pound man I love it can hold up. The mat is a little small for me but I make it work the best I can.

Attractive looking package on paper but perhaps overpriced. The promised workout instructions are minimal at best. There are no resistence bands or resistance mechanism in the wheel (although none was promised). The pad is nice. Actually this ab roller would be more attractive for travel to use in a hotel. It is relatively compact (even with the larger wheel) and easy to take apart and reassemble. That is probably what I will use it for.

Pleased with this. Very robust, the wheel is wide so very stable. Easy to assemble and also disassemble (if travelling).

Bought this because i was looking for one that was durable and well made. The wheel itself has like a rubber liner of some sort so it gives a good grip on your floor. I have tried it on laminate and exceeded my expectations. Also very quiet so you can use it to workout pretty quietly. I didn't think the foam mat for your knees would be that useful but when I tried it, I was blown away! Its so comfortable, it helps you focus more on what you're really working on (your core) as opposed to feeling the pain on your knees. 4/5 would recommend to a friend.

With a low processed-carb diet, I have rolled my way to a firmer stomach. A great addition to the fitness toolset - great build quality, rubberized wheel, solid hand grips... the knee pad is super comfortable, but I don't really use it. I bring this to the gym with me and make it part of my program.

Searching for one of these on Amazon is difficult given the variety of ‘brands’ and options out there. I found this to be the best quality whilst covering the core fundamentals (and no gimmicky counters / timers). Recommended.
