When is the expiry date ?

Living in Arizona, I will use Any deodorant much faster than it would Ever Expire! So I never thought to even look at the outside box for an expiration date, and I've already thrown out the outside box that it came in. I'm sorry I can't help.

Is this item returnable if it does not work

I don't remember what the criteria was for returns on this Product. Technically if you've used it even once, it becomes a "Personal Hygiene Product," and the store "might" be able to take it back (again not sure,) but by Law it cannot be Resold, it must be Destroyed.

Are Mitchum products aluminum free?

No. It's the first ingredient listed.

First time trying a gel, & I hate how long it takes to dry. How long should it take?? I had to put some dry solid over it just to feel drier faster!

The gel was not effective for me. I switched to the Mitchum Triple Odor Defense "Invisible Solid" and have been very pleased - no issue with drying, it is effective and there is no white residue.
