**Q: Does this require drivers? i have it plugged in but it is not visible in the usb device tree on either a 2011 imac or 2019 mbp...**
A: I'm using a 2019 Macbook Air with Mojave to transfer the contents of a 2011 Macbook Air SSD and did not have to use a driver. It was immediately recognized by the new Macbook Air.
