You've seen the movie now. Read the books. Bought this as a gift. Very happy with the quality being a box set. It looks good and makes an excellent gift. The story itself is amazing. I have not read it myself for a couple of decades but I can highly recommend. It is well written captivating story.

Really good books and a great way to get into the Dune saga. The story is much more than just science fiction with sandworms and desert planets — it is about power, religion, politics, family, ecology and what happens when people start treating one person like a messiah. Dune is the strongest and most accessible of the three, but Dune Messiah and Children of Dune make the story deeper and darker. They show the consequences of Paul Atreides’ rise instead of just treating him like a simple hero, which I really appreciated. Not always easy reading, and sometimes quite dense, but very rewarding if you like big world-building and serious science fiction. A must-read for anyone who enjoyed the films and wants the full story.

This set containing the first three books in the Dune series is honestly a really good value. The books feel great in hand, the covers look clean, and the overall quality is much better than I expected for the price. They’re also a really nice size for carrying around or reading casually without feeling too bulky. The only thing I noticed is that the first book is extremely thick compared to the others, and because the books are somewhat short width-wise, it can make reading feel a little awkward at times. The spine and page layout make it feel slightly cramped when holding it open for long periods. It’s not a dealbreaker by any means, but it does take a little getting used to. Overall though, this is still an amazing set for anyone wanting to get into the series without spending a ton of money.
