What color are the hooks...brown or black?

What is the depth from the back of the wood to the front of the hook (furthest point from the wall)?

Does the whitewash look white? Or is it more grayish?

Mine has some definite white to it but there are some gray areas too. It's a pretty nice balance and is pretty rustic. It is what I would consider a pretty classic white wash look.

Can you Screw it through the top even know it has something on the back for that?

It’s wood, so if you had long enough screws I guess you could, but I would recommend hanging it the way it’s supposed to be hung. It is very pretty and it might not look as nice and there is always the chance of splitting the wood. It comes with hanging hardware including anchors and a level, with a measuring tape it’s very easy to hang using the hooks on the back.

I ordered a second one after two years. It’s held up well and is affordable. But despite ordering the same color, the stain is different on the new one. Also, it’s been damaged. So though I’ll keep it, I’m disappointed in the quality and consistency.
