If this is a displayport 1.4, why does it say that it can only run 4k @ 60hz when 1.4 is supposed to be able to run 4k @ @ 120hz?

The description states it’s “compliant” to DisplayPort 1.4 specifications, but is only rated for High Bit Rate 2 (HBR2), not HBR3 which would give it the 4k@120hz you’re looking for. Hope that helps!

I would like to know if i can get 144k at 2k resolution with my samsung lc27jg50 using the display port?

Yes this his cable does support 144hz refresh rate (I assume you mean refresh rate) but only if your monitor supports it. You can check with Samsung or the user manual that comes with it. You also need to have a graphics card that is powerful enough to handle 144hz at 2k. It takes You would probably need at least an AMD Radeon RX 590 or something equivalent to that or better for most games. Running games at 144hz is harder on the graphics card than playing games at 60hz or 75hz.

Can this handle 3440x1440p at 120Hz refresh rate?
