Review: They worked for our yellow lab - I was surprised to see such negative reviews for this product that we've been using for two summers now. Our yellow Lab (mix) has long hair, kinda like a Golden Retriever. The lick strips (giant band-aids with pepper glued to the outside) have been great for his lower left front paw that he has licked for years. The strips require you to firmly press the adhesive onto the fur surrounding the wound, or it will fall off within minutes. Bandages never lasted more than an hour with this dog, but these strips can last two and three days. Any longer than that and the pepper rubs off completely and he is able to remove it on his own. I definitely recommend keeping your face away from the strips when you open them. I usually open band-aids using my teeth to rip the wrapper off of them, but I learned very quickly not to do that again. I am not sure if these work well on any other part of the body, but we've been very happy with how well they work to keep our dog from licking. Review: EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PRODUCT IS CRAP!!! - I can't believe I paid $15+ for this piece of crap!! It's basically a cheap bandaid with some kind of pepper powder glued on it. Of course, none of this is described in the description of the product page. If they had, I don't think anyone would buy it. So, let's think about it (since the manufacturer obviously didn't), what happens when you glue on pepper powder to a cheap bandaid on a dog: 1) Powder comes off easily like glitter and gets all over your hands as you peel it & it smells! 2) Powder gets all over your furniture, rug and carpet as you pet travels around the house! 3) My dog licked it off anyway because the it simply doesn't deter licking as it claims! 4) Unlike some of the fabric bandaid tape, the glue on this bandaid is very cheap, so the dog doesn't even have to bite into it. It dropped of on its own in about 5 seconds after about 5 direct licks! 5) After the dog licks it off he will lick his wound and because the stuff is made of some pepper powder, the would gets irritate/infected! Since my dog had a hotspot that he kept chewing on for couple of weeks, I tried everything on this site including tape, no-lick gels, shock bandaids, etc.. I must say that out of all these, THIS PRODUCT IS THE MOST REDICULOUS!!!
