Im 5'9, 180lbs. Will this be too small?

I'm 5'7 175lbs I wear the adjustment right in the middle. It has setting for taller people and shorter! This is the bag for you. I can't be more satisfied. I bought two more for family and will buy more when needed.

does it fit on a plane as a carry on

We really do not travel on planes with it. But based on the last time we traveled and what we took as carry on this would definitely qualify for carryon. It is not super huge and works well for my son.
