Would this be too abrasive for childrens hands if used on ladder rungs on outdoor playset?

I wouldn't think it's too abrasive. It's got a rough texture to it, but it's not rough feeling (like sandpaper). I walk on my barefoot regularly, and it doesn't cause any sort of discomfort.

could this product be used as traction for going up a metal roof?

I am very disappointed in this product. The glue on the tape is very inferior and comes off almost immediately.

Will it adhere to tile around a swimming pool under hot conditions-Mexico?

Yes ....it is great. The hot sun will probably deteriorate it over time

Every review about safety tread tape has complaints about them coming loose. We live in the N.East and get ice and snow what do you recommend.

I have mine indoors and its never gotten wet. So I really don't know. But indoors its never gotten loose or moved.

After a slip and fall, I installed this on the steps to the top of my daughter's bunk bed. No trouble since. Texture is rubberized so it's easy on bare feet and doesn't shred socks. Adhesive is also ridiculously sticky (as it should be), you get one shot to put this in the right spot - so take your time...

Works well after applied. But the backing is very hard to peel off, the paper backing keep tearing, so is quite frustrating, and you may just give up and throw it away.
