Why is there citric acid in a supposedly unflavored product? I can't even zoom in on the product photo to look at the ingredients.

The acidity of citric acid prevents the growth of bacteria and mold so that the product will be shelf-stable and safe for a long enough period of time. Citric acid tastes sour, so I suspect that the maltodextrin (a slightly sweet sugar that comes from vegetable starch) is added to balance that out and make it a more neutral taste.

is this for one or two pack for $59.99?

When I purchased it, only one container and it was $29 in 2019 which I think is high so $59.99 is outrageous.

Why does the unsweetened and unflavored kind, which I prefer, cost more than orange and sweetened?

I don't know but the unflavored kind, which I too prefer, seems to be harder to obtain. Could be that there is less demand for it so they charge more.
