These switches might be overkill for a normal network, but once your broadband gets above 1Gbit, normal switches will be your bottleneck all too often. Now with my main network using these that's not going to be the issue anymore. Pricewise, they are good value compared to no-name stuff that has many reports of problems. I like these switches. I have both 8-port and 5-port varieties. They work properly and are incredibly easy install and use. Just plug them in. Speed wise, they've had no problems at all, my PC reports full speed capability.
