**Q: My Bichon is 17.5lbs and girth is around 19....wondering if a medium would be best? I don't want the small to fit too tightly? Your thoughts??**
A: We got the small for our Malti-tzu who is 14lbs and 17in. girth and it fits him with a little room to spare (has adjustable straps) and we got the medium for our pug who is 23lbs and 25in girth. The medium is really too long for him but because of his thick broad chest & neck we had to get a larger size (he is only 15in from his neck to tail the malti-tzu is 17). The life jacket does have a neoprene belly band that is made to fit a little snug, but does not seem uncomfortable to the dogs (it has a small margin of adjustment to it). It's a very well made life jacket and you can't beat this price anywhere.  Your dogs' girth is so close to the max for the small it could probably fit a medium but keep in mind that it would be long and maybe even a little loose. However, if your dog keeps a summer haircut the small may be just fine. Hope this helped you.

**Q: Is there any place to attach a leash?**
A: No hook ups for a leash. We attached a big carabineer to the handles or looped the leash around the handles and attached it back to itself.

**Q: Does this have a metal ring to connect a leash or can a harness be used underneath and still able to be clipped to a leash?**
A: Hi this life jacket doesn't ha Metal ring to connect. Collar might attach it to the leash, not harness. Thank you!

Awesome product! If you have a strong swimmer it doesn't bother the pup like a standard pfd does. Our pointer spends plenty of time in the Ontario wilderness and this offers us peace of mind on the open water in the canoe and for those times she decides to take an extended swim. Just enough flotation to assist and not impede. Pros: Light Packable Sturdy Build Quality Cons: Lack of Availability in Canada
