How does the magnetizer work?

Magnetizer demagnetizer tool helps strengthen the magnetism of the screwdriver bits to grab screws, or weaken it to avoid damage to your sensitive electronics. Simply slide screwdriver or bits through the Magnetize Zone to strengthen the magnetism. To de-magnetize a tool, slide it through the Demagnetize Zone.

Anyone compare it to the expensive Ifixit kit? Quality of screws?

This kit is worth it..I have found it to be a great kit, I have been using it to break down a couple of old laptops and I had a few stubborn screws that I needed to put a bit if strain on..but the bits did not strip or bend.

how do adjust the length of the extension shaft?

Hi. You can push the adjust ring, then pull out or push in the extension shaft to adjust the length. The length can adjust from 5.71 to 8.46 inch. This repair tool kit also includes a flexible extension shaft which length is 4.92 inch.
