Review: Large and great quality - Great quality, really pretty design, I’m still happy after many uses. I do not use on the stovetop, I pour hot water in from electric kettle. Handle does not get hot, large enough to make 3 full sized mugs of tea when full. This is a beautiful, durable, weighty tea pot that sits on my counter. The trivet that comes with is a nice addition. I make sure to rinse and dry after use because I saw other reviewers had issues with rust…I have had no issues at all.

I’d recommend a tea cozy to keep it hot & keep your fingers protected from the very hot pot. If you don’t use a tea cozy that covers part of the lid, hold the lid in place. Since the lid doesn’t have a rubber gasket to hold it tightly in the pot, it falls out when pouring. My cherished grandmother’s tea cup was broken. 😢

**Q: What are the dimensions of the strainer for this teapot? Would it be large enough to hold 6 teaspoons of tea and let it unwind?**
A: Yes! As you can see on the pictures, we built it in a way that people prefering strong tea flavor can add a good amount of tea in the strainer. Have a look at the pictures taken from above, you'll notice how wide the strainer is. It is also quite deep.

**Q: Can you use on a direct campfire? I plan to use it as my camping teapot where often I’m putting it on the direct flames toward the outer rim**
A: Most enamel lined cookware is not going to like being placed on very hot flames - this is why lodge cast iron stuff for camping is not enamel lined, but they make home use stuff that is. 

If you're just hanging it over the fire or on a grate over the fire, it will likely be fine, but if you're going to put something very close to a campfire or into the coals, get something without an enamel lining that's just raw cast iron.

This will likely also burn off the exterior paint - this kind of teapot isn't meant for flames licking around the sides, just a medium stove at most.

**Q: What’s the minimum amount of water needed to prepare the tea?  How deep is the filter infuser?**
A: The infuser is approximately 2.5" deep.  It is hard to see how much water is in the kettle when pouring.  I fill my stove top tea kettle about halfway and that covers the tea leaves.

Elegant tea pot. Weighty. Holds a lot of tea. I fill it halfway with hot water and it provides enough tea for 4-5 teacups. First thoughts: Well made, beautiful, and a stiff handle which keeps the teapot from swinging. I have used it for almost a week now and love it! I heat it over a fire on our gas stove. The metal tea infuser fits just right and is tight weaved so no leaves escape into the pot. It stays hot for hours allowing me to work at my desk and refill my teacup as needed. If I do not finish the pot before it starts cooling, I can put the entire teapot on top my electric coffee warmer to keep it warm. Previous reviews comment it does not hold 40oz (5 cups) but it 100% does.
