Review: You need more room than 4" to screw it into the pump - I have a large boulder in the way and when I tear down the waterfall in the fall< I will have to chip away at the large boulder to get it to fit to screw it to the pump. Review: A waste of money - This is a very flimsy filter case. It is molded plastic which has little to no stiffness. The two halves are threaded together with almost no thread--i.e., if you hold it sidewise, the halves come apart. And the filter itself--the one listed as being the one for it--is a large, greatly oversized foam that needs to be compressed considerably to go into the screen. Because of the density and size of the foam, combined with the flimsiness of the screen, the screen just can't take the load. The halves tend to pop apart with minor handling. I ended up making another filter using PVC parts, with a section of the foam. Overall my handmade filter is smaller, and perhaps less effective, but at least it holds together. I will just have to change it more often. Bottom line--don't buy this screen.

Great for canister filter
Was trying to find something that didn't clog as fast as the sponge filters do... this works great and the slots are small enough and plentiful enough that the smaller fish and fry aren't sucked in. Still highly recommend as long as you make sure it doesn't get completely blocked.

This is the second one we have had and only ...
This is the second one we have had and only had to replace the old one because of my clumsy husband stepping on it and crushing it.
