Why does it say 1 A battery required??

That is a mistake in the listing. No batteries are required

Where is this product made ?

USA, ,Farouk product, Chicago, I think. Wonderful stuff!

Can it be used to silk wrap your hair?

Yes it can I use it all time time depending on how much hair you have. You do not want to use a lot it will weight your hair down I have long hair I use a dime size amount.

I love this stuff but hate the smell. It's so overpowering. Can anyone recommend something similar that doesn't have such a strong smell?

I love this. The smell is different for each of us.
