Add a few drops of honing oil to the side of the whetstone you will use for sharpening. Grip the puck firmly between your thumb and fingers and support it on the palm. Move the whetstone in a circular motion and overlap the circles as you move along the entire cutting edge to be sharpened. (Note: For best results, be sure to maintain a consistent angle when sharpening). Work one whole side of the tool edge before repeating the sharpening process on the other side. ❤ Pro tips: * For badly worn, nickel plated or very dull edges, use the coarse side of the whetstone first. To apply a finer edge, repeat the process with the medium grit of the whetstone. * If your tools simply need a touch up, skip the step with the coarse grit and use only the medium grit. Review: Good stone - Seems like a solid sharpening stone especially for the price. I used it once to sharpen my fiskar chopping hatchet, it did a good job. Should be able to use it for many more sharpens Review: Actually Works. Simple and repeatable results. - What a product! I have purchased automatic diamond sharpeners and expensive manual sharpeners that utilize bars/v shape holding. These claim to be dummy proof. I have not had great results on tough steel. This simple thing however - i used for maybe 2 minutes and have a paper cutting edge on a knife I have never been able to sharpen. Very pleased. Will buy again. Note this is good for tough steel. Suggest a polishing stone for minor cleanup. ## Features - DUAL GRIT: Coarse side(Black) 150 Grit of this combination whetstone is used to sharpen dull edges quickly.
