Dr.Althea Blackhead Zero 2 Step Nose Patch

My nose gets congested, like everyone, they are not true blackheads, but those pores behave differently than the others on your face and fill with sebum. It's nice to clean it all out every once in a while though so the pores don't stretch and become oxidized and brown. I really hate the traditional pore strips though. They just hurt, and leave my nose feeling itchy and sore. This set works differently. One strip softens the hardened sebum, it never dries though. Then you use a little swab to gently press the excess out of the pores and wipe it off. there's even a little extractor tool at the end of the swab that works well. The second pore strip tones the open pores and soothes any irritation. I experienced very little irritation. Most was self inflicted with the extractor. My nose looks smooth and spot free, but doesn't have all the pits left behind by traditional pore strips. I think the only advantage the old pore strips have over these, is that they get the nasal fold better. That's such a hard area to extract. But it's healthy to have *some* sebum there. You just don't want it to get clogged up and black. This is a great set, I would use this again in a heartbeat over the old school pore strips.

I wear makeup almost everyday and my pores definitely get build up between makeup and having generally oily skin. I have tried the usual things to help but the quickest, most effective, go to remedy thing for my blackheads are the pore strips. The pore strips go on the nose and once pulled off exfoliate and bring the dirt with them. It’s obvious what’s been caught on the strip. This pack has a two step process that takes 20-30 minutes total. So one more step and double the time as traditional nose strips. The first strip used is black and has a pleasant tea tree scent. It is quite soaked in the serum and plenty wet once removed from the pouch. It’s also long and large enough to fit most noses I would say. It doesn’t stick or harden the same as a traditional strip. I felt like mine was a little long and slipped a little but it did stay on. After the timer has gone off (10-15 minutes later), the strip can be removed. It’s almost exactly the same as when it was put on but a little less serum. Then the black cotton swab/picker tool can be used. The swab wipes the nose and removes debris. The tool on the opposite end can be used to gently scrape too. The tip is a solid black so I would venture to guess one would always see something on it. Once rubbed on the skin it’s going to remove or exfoliate. I had some white specks on the tip at this point. But it doesn’t give the same satisfaction as a pore strip. My nose did feel cleaner. The final step is another strip. This one is a more transcluscent color with a different serum. The same process is done this time once it’s removed , the serum stays on the skin to soak in though. Overall, my nose did feel cleaner. It looked clean too. Sure there were still some pores with visible gunk. I wouldn’t say these are as effective as the traditional strip. After I use the hardened type strips, I can clearly see empty pores. I could see using this in conjunction with the hardening types but not alone. With everyday makeup wear and oily skin, I don’t feel like this solves all of my pore problems. Of course as with most skin care items, not many things do.

Before I get into my review I should mention that I have always struggled with clogged pores, blackheads and very recently whiteheads. I used to live in a high humidity area and moved quickly to a dry North Texas weather so my skin never got a chance to figure out what to do. I have a strawberry nose, way too many of blackheads that I have to keep removing by pore strips which don't work. Most pore strips are painful, drying and don't even pull the gunk on the surface let alone inside the pore. Anyway. This is something else. I have never used anything like this. You just put the strip on and the gunk just settles on the surface ready to be cleaned up. I am amazed at how gentle it is and how well it works. before I put the pore minimizer I like to go with a blackhead removing strip that I like to make sure it gets everything. And it does! My nose looks visibly cleaner I am so pleased! I will be repurchasing this for the rest of my life.

this is an absolute improvement to biore and other similar blackhead nose strips. it doesn’t pull out too much and the follow up mask really helps close up the pores so they don’t stay open and large for more blackheads to form after, which honestly, was why people stopped using those strips. i haven’t decided if i’ll get this again, it depends on how my pores look after using them all. i don’t wanna get more if they end up giving me the same results as the other single step strips but if i notice that they help overall with pore size by the end of the box, i’ll probably get more. overall better than expected and a new experience i enjoyed.

My husband and I both tried these out, following the instructions exactly, and neither of us saw any difference. Our blackheads and sebaceous filaments were just as stubborn coming out as if we hadn't used anything.

I've used a lot of different products, but the blackheads are always there! I used Biore strips, they kind of work, but I still see a good amount of blackheads left afterwards. This product has two patches, one for removing blackheads, the other for rightening the pores. After step 1, I can see tons of blackheads and whiteheads on my nose! It was gross but also satisfying... And I used a regular nose strip to pull off them. The tightening serum was AMAZING! Wow! I can see the difference - those pores do get a lot smaller after step 2! And they didn't grow back the next morning! I will keep using it, hopefully will say bye to all the blackheads!

This was a little different than the typical blackhead removal nose strips, but these are still "nose strips". The consistency and removal method is just a little different. These are soaked in some blackhead removal serum, and you leave them on your nose for 10-15 minutes. Once that's done, you remove the strip and use the provided cotton bud to slough off the sebum that's been loosened by the serum. It sort of worked for me, but it just isn't as satisfying as you can't really see the blackhead coming off like you would a traditional pore strip. I'm sure it did remove some trapped sebum because I did see tiny bits, it just isn't that obvious. When you are done with that step there's the final step of closing up the pores with another nose strip. I think if you want a gentler way of removing blackheads, this is worth a try to see if it works for you. This isn't any more time consuming than the typical pore strip if you aren't counting the step 2 of closing up the pores. All in all, I think people are dissatisfied because they can't really see the gunk getting removed, even if it did. It is definitely much gentler in comparison to a pore strip though, and my nose doesn't have the same itchy, dry feeling like I would with a pore strip.
