With the use of the dome the cheese melts beautifully. I highly recommend you get one of these domes , you can trust the item will be intact with handle in place. A previous dome I bought is now a bird bath in my garden, when it arrived I pulled it out of the box only to find that the handle was only attached by a single thread which came away completely as soon as touched, I can definitely say the dome I am reviewing is aesthetically pleasing and is fully functional. Do get this dome and not the other. I again highly recommend this item.
