Hefty case that looks great on a desk
I've had several optical drives from old Mac Pro systems and thought this would be a good companion for a Mac Pro. And it is, it looks great on top of a Mac tower case, it blends in. It's not meant to be portable - with an optical drive inside it, it weighs just over 3 pounds, and just over 2 pounds empty; it's meant to look great on your desk or shelf. Very solid construction, no sharp edges or other manufacturing issues. I knew it would come with a US power adapter only but luckily it works with 100-240V and it's the bog-standard barrel jack. It says it's USB 3.2 but I couldn't verify because I don't have any bluray drives that would saturate the USB bandwidth. I know I can burn DVDs at maximum speed.

Best USB external Blu-ray drive solution with a 5.25 Inch drive.
Very premium and robust aluminium (luckily not stainless steel anymore) case. Works flawlessly with macOS 11.6.

A pretty good enclosure
The enclosure was very well made. Cover was aluminum with inner casing with electrical connectors of good quality. It fits my Asus CD drive very snugly. I am pleased with my purchase. The enclosure with my CD drive work very well.

Case per unità ottica da 5,25" di qualità veramente eccelsa. Corpo in alluminio molto solido, viti molto robuste e filetti ben fatti e resistenti. Il chip interno ha dei cavi preinstallati per l'alimentazione e il collegamento SATA, entrambi eventualmente sostituibili. Molto utile l'interruttore di bypass per l'alimentazione sul retro e molto robusto anche il cavo USB 3.2 Gen 1. Io l'ho utilizzato per contenere uno dei miei masterizzatori UHD Friendly così da poterlo sfruttare collegato al laptop. L'alimentatore è arrivato con spina europea/italiana, al contrario di quanto riscontrato in altre recensioni (probabilmente chi ha ricevuto la spina UK ha acquistato da un altro rivenditore terzo, non direttamente da OWC EU). Consiglio di acquistare direttamente dal produttore OWC EU (con spedizione tramite Amazon), il prezzo è più basso rispetto ad altri venditori terzi (di quasi 20 euro) e la qualità è garantita.
