Barberries [Natural], 16oz

The berries came well packaged, are fresh, clean and taste great.

Love these barberries! I soak and rinse 1/4 cup of berries for 5 minutes in warm water then let them dry a bit on a paper towel. I then store them in a glass container in the refrigerator and put a least one tablespoon on my oatmeal daily. They are tart, but still taste great. They are packed with antioxidants.

The barberries are tart and tasty. The packaging is sturdy and keeps them fresh. I continue to buy these and enjoy them!

These have all the bright flavor I was looking for in my basmati rice. 5/5 on flavor. The color was a little less bright than I was expecting so 4/5 on color, but when I am enjoying a special item shipped to me from so far away, I accept it won't be exactly like at the source. We have to be realistic.

These are the only Barberries I have ever bought or tasted so I don't have others to compare to them. They taste very tart, but I assume that is how Barberries are supposed to taste.

I missed the small disclaimer line in the product description that this product required washing before eating. I went looking for it after I bit down on a small rock. Thought about throwing it out and chalking it up to experience but these weren't cheap. So, I've been washing them to allow any rocks to hopefully sink. I've pulled a couple of "thorns" out of the water, and there is always some sandlike dirt residue in the bottom of the container. The problem is, some of the berries float but many of them sink as well. So it is a very time-consuming thing to fish them out of the water while also avoiding picking up the rocks, thorns and dirt I just washed off. I definitely will never buy these again from this supplier and I will probably end up throwing them away. I have been used to dried goji berries at Costco and that's the quality and convenience I was expecting. THE ONE POSITIVE: This is my first time eating barberries after having them recommended by Dr. Michael Greger and they are delicious. Hopefully, I can find a different supplier who pre-washes and "de-rocks/de-thorns" their product before selling.
